NBA DFS: Top Daily Fantasy Expert Picks for DraftKings, FanDuel (2/13/24)

Free daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for today's slate on DraftKings and FanDuel. Use Max Kulish's NBA DFS expert picks to building winning DFS lineups on February 13, 2024.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! Tonight we've got a six-game slate headlined by a TNT doubleheader of Thunder at Magic and Kings at Suns. These articles focus on the overall best plays, which are typically more suited for cash games. However, some exceptions may apply, depending on the size of the slate.

The key to being successful in NBA DFS comes down to making adjustments during the day as injury information becomes available. But it's always really important to have a game plan and the best players and spots circled first before making those adjustments. To keep up with all the latest developments and get access to updated projections, grab an NBA season pass and also gain access to our RotoBaller Premium Discord where @chiefjustice6 is talking about the slate up until lineups lock!

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 2/13/24. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our awesome NBA injuries report tool, as the slate can completely change before lineups lock at 7:30 p.m. EST on FanDuel and DraftKings. As always, feel free to follow my X/Twitter (@Maxadelphia) to keep up to date with NBA news and for my nightly NBA bets if you're into that sort of thing. Let's go!

Today's NBA DFS Core Picks

Let's first take a look at our premium projections to see who we want to target for our top spend-ups tonight.

The Lakers' star duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis headline the top options on the slate tonight. With the Lakers vs. Pistons game boasting the second-highest total on the slate (238 at the time of writing) and both teams on multiple days of rest, there are a lot of good pieces in this game from both sides.

The game with the highest implied total (245 at the time of writing) of this slate is the Pacific Division showdown between the Kings and Suns. This game features four different players priced at $8,000 or greater and choosing the right combination of players from this game will be tough, but getting it right can give you a big leg up on your competition.

The last game that looks to be widely popular is the Heat at Bucks game. The Heat will be missing both Terry Rozier and Josh Richardson, opening big opportunities for other Miami players. We'll talk about this more in a second, but Miami will likely be the most widely-owned team across the slate.

  1. Anthony Davis, LAL vs. DET – C ($10,100 DK; $11,300 FD)
  2. Tyler Herro, MIA at MIL – PG/SG ($6,900 DK; $7,800 FD)
  3. De'Aaron Fox, SAC at PHX – SG/SF ($8,000 DK; $8,800 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Value Picks

Picking up where we left off -- Miami is the place to look for value tonight. The Heat are also down Jimmy Butler, meaning there will be plenty of minutes void to be filled. Further value could be available should Duncan Robinson end up sitting as well, but as of now that looks unlikely. As it stands now, Robinson, Caleb Martin, and Jaime Jaquez Jr. figured to be the most popular picks. On the other side of this matchup, the Bucks are down Khris Middleton, so Pat Connaughton and Jae Crowder are both seeing more minutes as a result.

The Nets don't have a player priced higher than $7,400, and with Cam Johnson ruled out again, it looks like Dennis Smith Jr. and Dennis Schroder are both viable plays under $5K. The Celtics are always capable of engineering high-scoring games; if the Nets are able to match, it might be their cheap players that are optimal.

The last player under $5,000 that caught my eye was Ausar Thompson. Thompson has started three straight games and has played 26+ minutes in five straight. On the Lakers' side, with their injuries on the wing, both Taurean Prince and Rui Hachimura should continue to see an increased role.

Top Value Plays:

  1. Caleb Martin, MIA at MIL – PF ($5,000 DK; $5,600 FD)
  2. Ausar Thompson, DET at LAL – SF/PF ($4,900 DK; $5,900 FD)
  3. Rui Hachimura, LAL vs. DET – SF/PF ($4,700 DK; $5,400 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Point Guard

I can always get behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as a top option, especially when it looks like he'll be a little lower-owned than usual. However, De'Aaron Fox and Cade Cunningham are the two PGs that truly stand out due to their game environments. Fox is looking to rebound from one of his worst games of the year, and in his last game against the Suns on January 16, he scored 33 points en route to a 51-point fantasy performance. Cunningham is averaging 42.3 fantasy PPG over his last eight full games, and with the Lakers missing some of their best perimeter defenders, I think this could be a spot for Cade to shine.

Top PG Options:

  1. Cade Cunningham, DET at LAL, ($7,800 DK; $8,400 FD)
  2. De'Aaron Fox, SAC at PHX, ($8,000 DK; $8,800 FD)
  3. Dennis Smith Jr., BKN vs. BOS, ($4,700 DK; $6,100 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Shooting Guard

Tyler Herro will be operating as the de facto PG for the Heat, so his having SG eligibility is a huge deal, and makes fitting him into lineups much easier. However, Duncan Robinson looks to also be a popular play with $2,700 in savings compared to Herro. Dennis Schroder put up 38.75 fantasy points in his Nets debut and looks to have a similar role tonight.

Top SG Options:

  1. Tyler Herro, MIA at MIL ($6,900 DK; $7,800 FD)
  2. Duncan Robinson, MIA at MIL ($4,200, $5,000 FD)
  3. Malik Monk, SAC at PHX ($5,800 DK; $6,900 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Small Forward

SF has plenty of options tonight. You can pay up for LeBron or Anthony Edwards, or you can choose to save some cash with one of the options available on the Lakers, Heat, or Bucks.

Top SF Options:

  1. LeBron James, LAL vs. DET ($9,600 DK; $10,100 FD)
  2. Jaime Jaquez Jr., MIA at MIL ($4,500 DK; $5,900 FD)
  3. Pat Connaughton, MIL vs. MIA ($4,400 DK; $4,400 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Power Forward

Coincidentally, all of our top-value plays tonight carry PF eligibility. Feel free to mix and match where in your lineup you want them, but the three forward roster spots tonight that have endless possibilities.

Top PF Options:

  1. Caleb Martin, MIA at MIL ($5,000 DK; $5,600 FD)
  2. Ausar Thompson, DET at LAL ($4,900 DK; $5,900 FD)
  3. Rui Hachimura, LAL vs. DET ($4,700 DK; $5,400 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Picks: Center

I've already listed Anthony Davis as one of my top plays of the slate, but Domantas Sabonis is right up there with him. Sabonis has posted a triple-double the last two times he's faced off against the Suns and has five triple-doubles in his last seven games.

Top C Options:

  1. Anthony Davis, LAL vs. DET ($10,100 DK; $11,300 FD)
  2. Domantas Sabonis, SAC at PHX ($10,000 DK; $10,700 FD)
  3. Rudy Gobert, MIN at POR ($7,200 DK; $8,100 FD)

Today's Top NBA DFS Game Stacks

  1. Pistons at Lakers (241.5 total)
  2. Kings at Suns (245.5 total)
  3. Celtics at Nets (228 total)

Today's Top NBA DFS Avoids

  1. Although the game projects well, I'm avoiding the Suns' Big Three in this spot.
  2. Timberwolves at Blazers feels like the game most likely to end up with the lowest scoring on the slate. The Wolves are on the second leg of back-to-back road games.
  3. Thunder at Magic will likely get lost in the shuffle of what the other games provide.

My Favorite NBA DFS Picks for Today

Here is where I leave you with some of my favorites.

  • My favorite overall play on the slate: Anthony Davis
  • My favorite CASH play on the slate: Your choice of at least two Heat players
  • My favorite GPP play on the slate: Domantas Sabonis
  • My favorite value play: Rui Hachimura
