Fantasy Baseball Trade Targets - Buy/Sell for Week 11 (2024)

Wyatt Langford - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Prospects

Fantasy baseball trade candidates to buy/sell for Week 11 (2024). Joey's fantasy baseball undervalued players to target in trades, and overvalued to trade away.

Welcome, RotoBallers, to another edition of buy low/sell high trade targets. In this article, we will look at five players whom fantasy managers should be looking to buy low or sell high heading into Week 11 (June 3 to June 9).

It's wild to think that we are 10 full weeks through the fantasy season, and about a third of the baseball season is already completed. It's at this point in the season where players' stats start to even out. Remember when Matt Olson was batting .195 just a couple of weeks ago? Well, he's now hitting .323 with four home runs since then.

It's hard not to overreact when a player is slumping at the plate or struggling on the mound. But that is the best time to buy low on those players because it could pay off. So, here are five players fantasy managers should be looking to buy low or sell high heading into Week 11.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Undervalued Fantasy Baseball Players to Trade For

OF Seiya Suzuki, Chicago Cubs

After a strong start to the season, Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki has been tough to roster in fantasy for the past six weeks. He spent four weeks on the injured list from April 15 to May 10 with an oblique issue, and even upon his return, he has struggled mightily at the plate. Suzuki is hitting just .209 over his last 16 starts.

But Suzuki is a player who fantasy managers should be trying to trade for immediately. For starters, it is encouraging to see him have a hit in seven straight games, which included a pinch-hit two-run home run against the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday. That raised his average to .310 over that hitting streak. So, there are recent positive signs from the Cubs outfielder.

Suzuki also continues to be one of the unluckiest hitters in baseball. His average exit velocity (92.1 mph), hard-hit rate (52.6%), and expected slugging (.461) all rank extremely well. As a result, fantasy managers should expect some better fantasy days ahead. Buy him now before he gets really hot at the plate.

SP Kevin Gausman, Toronto Blue Jays

It has not particularly been a strong year so far for Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Kevin Gausman. Gausman has not looked like himself in 2024, especially after finishing third in the American League Cy Young voting a season ago. Part of those struggles can be related to a shoulder injury he suffered in spring training.

While Gausman decided to fight through that shoulder fatigue and not start the season on the injured list, that has surely affected him. The right-hander has expressed some regret in not going on the IL to begin the year. However, his 4.14 ERA and 56 strikeouts aren't necessarily bad numbers. Fantasy managers just expected more from him so far.

That's why now is the perfect time to buy low on Gausman. He just came off an outing against the Chicago White Sox where he struck out just three batters. So, there might be a small buy-low window before he makes his next start on Monday against the Baltimore Orioles. As the season goes on, we should see more of the 2023 version of the Blue Jays pitcher.

OF Wyatt Langford, Texas Rangers

Rostering rookies in fantasy is extremely tough. There are going to be plenty of rough fantasy days, and fantasy managers will contemplate dropping them throughout the season. Last year, Gunnar Henderson had a .206 average in the middle of June before getting going in the second half.

We could see a similar path playing out for Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford. The rookie has struggled to begin his major league career and had just a .224 average with only four extra-base hits (three doubles and one home run) before landing on the injured list with a hamstring strain on May 6. Nonetheless, Langford has since returned from the IL and just had his sixth multi-game of the season on Wednesday.

There is a certain learning curve for rookies in their first year in the league. It takes them time to get going, but when they do, the sky is the limit. Wait patiently for Langford to eventually break out, and when he does, fantasy managers who traded for him will be rewarded big time.

Overvalued Fantasy Baseball Players to Trade Away

SP Luis Gil, New York Yankees

This one might catch fantasy managers by surprise, but I am selling New York Yankees pitcher Luis Gil in every league while his value is this high. As great as Gil has been over the month of May, there is some regression likely expected for the right-hander. He has given up just three earned runs across 38 2/3 innings pitched over his last six starts (0.70 ERA).

Gil is on an unbelievable run on the mound for the Yankees, as he has held opposing hitters to a .109 average in May while striking out 44 batters. However, it has been a favorable matchup stretch for the 25-year-old. Of those six starts this month, he has faced four offenses ranked in the bottom half of the league in several categories (Tampa Bay Rays, Chicago White Sox, Seattle Mariners, and Los Angeles Angels).

We shouldn't be taking away what Gil has done recently because of his opponents. He also threw 6 1/3 shutout innings against the Baltimore Orioles back on May 1 and then followed that up by allowing one run across six innings against the Houston Astros. Nevertheless, it's going to be interesting to see how much longer the right-hander can keep up this dominant stretch, especially with matchups against the Los Angeles Dodgers and Orioles approaching in the coming weeks.

Fantasy managers should try to get as much in return for Gil because his value might never be higher in fantasy. Now might be the right time to pull the trigger.

2B/OF Davis Schneider, Toronto Blue Jays

Toronto Blue Jays utility specialist Davis Schneider has been one of the few surprises on that offense this season. He is currently hitting .248 with six HRs, 13 doubles, and 27 RBI. More importantly, he has seen his rostership jump up to 34% in Yahoo leagues. However, he is a player fantasy managers should be looking to trade away.

It's hard to say many negative things about Schneider's play as of late. He has totaled double-digit fantasy points -- in Yahoo standard leagues -- in four of the past five games while tallying seven RBI during that stretch. The 25-year-old has also earned an everyday role, appearing in 48 of 55 games this season.

But, we could be headed for some rough days at the plate in the coming weeks. His expected batting average (.226), hard-hit rate (40.8%), whiff rate (28.6%), and strikeout rate (25.9%) all don't rank particularly well. Schneider has also seen his fair share of slumps at the plate this year, like when he hit .152 (7-for-46) in a 13-game span from May 12 to May 26. So, trade him now before another cold streak comes.
