Streaming hitters and pitchers to exploit matchups are important to help you win your league.

It is important to know your league if you're going to stream. I'm not just talking about which teams your leaguemates root for. I'm talking about whether strikeouts count against you for hitters or if fielding stats are included. Most importantly, you need to know how many transactions you have per week. You don't want to blow your allotment within a couple of days. You can also use these recommendations to help build your DFS lineups. This article will use rostered percentages and position eligibility from ESPN leagues.

We go from one of the worst pitching nights of the year to a day with 11 pitchers that are owned in more than 90% of ESPN leagues and only one more that is owned in more than half. With 32 pitchers going today, that leaves us a large pool with 20 pitchers to choose from today.

Hitter Streamers for 7/10 - Shallow Leagues

Brandon Nimmo (OF, LHB, NYM) - 49.2% Rostered

Matchup: vs. PIT LHP Tyler Anderson, vs. PIT RHP Max Kranick

The Mets have been giving Nimmo regular days off, so the chances of us double dipping with the twin bill today seems unlikely. However, Nimmo is hitting .385 since his return from the IL on July 3 with five RBI and seven runs scored. Even if he only gets a crack at the rookie, Nimmo is helping in three of the five categories leading off for the Mets right now. I'll take that.

Robbie Grossman (OF, SHB, DET) - 44.1% Rostered

Matchup: at MIN RHP Bailey Ober

Ober has yet to go more than five innings in any of his five starts this year. That means that even in Grossman and company don't get to the rookie, they get four innings against that dreadful bullpen. Ober has had mixed success so far this year. Grossman had an end of June swoon, but he is riding a modest four-game hit streak and is hitting .353 with two homers, six RBI, four runs scored, and a steal in July. Sign me up against this Minnesota pen.

Eric Haase (C/OF, RHB, DET) - 32.1% Rostered

Matchup: at MIN RHP Kenta Maeda

Haase has four homers in the last eight games with 13 RBI and eight runs scored. That doesn't even take into account the .318 average in those eight games. I've mentioned the hit-and-miss with Ober and the total miss (mess) that is the Minnesota bullpen. This hot streak should continue here.

Jace Peterson (1B/2B/OF, LHB, MIL) - 23.2% Rostered

Matchup: vs. CIN RHP Vladimir Gutierrez

Peterson is hitting .381 with two homers, 12 RBI, 12 runs scored, and a pair of steals in the last fortnight. One of those homers was off of Jacob deGrom. Let's just put him in the Hall of Fame now, yeah? Save some time. If this dude can take deGrom deep, I'm not the slightest bit worried about him facing a rookie. Peterson is riding a heater and he can fill in at a few positions. There are many ways for him to help your team.

Hitter Streamers for 7/10 - Deeper Leagues

Starlin Castro (2B/3B, RHB, WAS) - 18.4% Rostered

Matchup: at SF RHP Anthony DeSclafani

We see this about once a year, don't we? Castro has a 1-game hitting streak and has at least one hit in all but three games over the last 26 days. Not only that, Castro has four consecutive multi-hit games and is hitting .463 in his current hitting streak with eight runs scored, a homer, and 11 RBI. As long as he keeps hitting for a high average, we can work with this. Just keep in mind that Castro doesn't have much for power or speed left at the age of 31. He can help your average, runs scored, and RBI though.

Garrett Cooper (1B/OF, RHB, MIA) - 16.4% Rostered

Matchup: vs. ATL LHP Max Fried

Cooper should go on the IL more often. Since his return on June 25, Cooper is hitting .485 with four homers, nine RBI, and nine runs scored. Cooper finished off the series with the Dodgers by picking up five hits in the last two games including two homers. One of those four homers came in the series at Atlanta last week. Ride this hot streak while it lasts.

Elvis Andrus (SS, RHB, OAK) - 12.1% Rostered

Matchup: at TEX RHP Mike Foltynewicz

Elvis has only left the building twice this year, but both times have been in the last seven games. This is unusual for Andrus, who has just 78 homers in 13 major league seasons. Elvis is hitting .343 in that seven-game stretch with those homers, four RBI, five runs scored, and a steal. Foltynewicz has allowed 24 runs over his last six starts. I'll ride the hot streak of a guy who spent his first 12 seasons with the Rangers. There could be some revenge in the air.

Ben Gamel (OF, LHB, PIT) - 6.6% Rostered

Matchup: at NYM RHP Marcus Stroman, NYM RHP Tylor Megill

We may not get to double dip with Nimmo, but we will get to with Gamel. Not only that, but he should once again be batting cleanup for the festivities. Gamel is hitting .417 during his eight-game hitting streak that began with July with four homers, eight RBI, and nine runs scored. No wonder he's batting cleanup! I'll take eight plate appearances from the man on fire off of waivers, please and thank you.

Pitcher Streamers for 7/10 - Shallow Leagues

Ross Stripling (RHP, TOR) - 37.7% rostered

Matchup: at Tampa Bay

Stripling has posted an impressive 3.10 ERA and 0.93 WHIP over the last month while playing his home games in Buffalo. Perhaps more impressive is the fact that Stripling has allowed ten walks in his last six starts and hasn't had a walk-free outing since May 19. That's probably because he didn't make it out of the fourth inning in that game. Stripling is living a little dangerously considering the walks and the fact that he has allowed one homer in every one of his starts in the last month. The good news is that he has 30 strikeouts in 29 innings and gets a huge park upgrade here.

Chris Flexen (RHP, SEA) - 35.2% rostered

Matchup: vs. Angels

The season numbers on Flexen aren't anything to write home about, but he has a 2.27 ERA and 0.98 WHIP over the last month. The only Angel that's hitting is Shohei Ohtani. Considering how stingy Flexen has been with everything in the last month, this is likely a risk worth taking. He doesn't live as dangerously as Stripling does, but he also wont bail you out with strikeouts like Stripling does either. Flexen can help your ratios and maybe get you a win.

Pitcher Streamers for 7/10 - Deeper Leagues

Max Kranick (RHP, PIT) - 2.5% rostered

Matchup: at Mets

Kranick threw five perfect innings against a similarly offensively challenged Cardinals team on June 27 in his major league debut. Round two will come in one of the games of the double dip today. Kranick averaged around a strikeout per inning in AA and AAA so far this year, so we have reason to think that he can give us decent strikeout potential today and maybe help the ratios a little.
