Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 3:
Dalton Schultz, Houston Texans
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz carried a huge workload in Week 2 with Nico Collins (hamstring) unavailable, and he is primed to be a PPR producer all season since he's getting so much attention from C.J. Stroud in the Texans' passing game. Schultz caught 12 of his 14 targets in Week 2, racking up 140 yards against the Bengals and posting the best PPR score of all tight ends, even without a touchdown.
Even with Collins healthy in Week 1, Schultz was second on the team in targets and caught four of his eight targets for 35 yards. With Collins likely missing at least one more game, Schultz should continue to get a very heavy workload and be a starting tight end in Week 3, when the Texans visit the Colts, who gave up a big game to Travis Kelce on Monday Night Football and have been a positive matchup for tight ends this season.
Darren Waller, Carolina Panthers
Carolina Panthers tight end Darren Waller made the most of limited work Sunday, catching all three of his targets for 33 yards and two touchdowns in a 34-3 win over Atlanta. The touchdowns will get the attention, but the role still needs some context. Waller played 29 offensive snaps, or 44%, while Tommy Tremble and Mitchell Evans both played more.
That was still a step up from Week 1, when Waller logged 24 snaps and had a touchdown wiped out by a penalty. Carolina clearly has a use for him near the goal line, and this is not new territory. Waller scored six times on only 24 catches for Miami last season.
The volume may stay frustrating, but tight end is thin enough that those scoring chances matter. RotoBaller's Week 3 waiver coverage has him as an add in 12-team leagues, with one column calling him a must-add at that depth. He is worth picking up now, but managers should expect some low-target weeks along the way.
Waller holds solid low-end TE1 upside facing the Browns on Sunday afternoon.
Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills
Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid turned in a dominant performance in his team's 41-31 Week 2 win over the Detroit Lions, recording seven catches for 95 yards and a touchdown on eight targets. The 26-year-old is off to an excellent start to the 2026 season, hauling in 12 catches for 225 yards and a score on 14 targets across his team's first two games. While Kincaid was highly efficient as a receiver in 2025, he saw just 49 targets across 12 games.
He missed five games due to injury, and the Bills limited his workload even in the weeks when he was active. Kincaid appears to be fully healthy in 2026, and he's played at least 66% of Buffalo's offensive snaps in both Week 1 and Week 2.
With top Bills wide receiver DJ Moore (shoulder) now battling an AC joint sprain that could cause him to miss time, Kincaid's usage could grow even further in Buffalo's Week 3 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. As long as he remains healthy, Kincaid profiles as a must-start tight end for fantasy managers.
Oronde Gadsden, Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers tight end Oronde Gadsden has become a much more interesting Week 3 waiver option after injuries thinned out the position Sunday. David Njoku was carted off with a knee injury and did not return, while Charlie Kolar later left with a forearm injury and was also unable to come back. Gadsden caught both of his targets for 18 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown from Justin Herbert.
The volume was still modest, so this is not a must-add situation in every league yet. The opportunity could change quickly, though. Gadsden caught 49 passes for 664 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie last season, and he could move into a much larger role with both Njoku and Kolar set to miss time. Through two games, he has caught all four of his targets for 50 yards and a score.
Gadsden is a strong add in 12-team leagues, with his Week 3 value sitting in low-end TE streaming territory.
Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce looked like the Kelce of old in this contest, putting up a massive stat line in the 33-30 overtime win over the Indianapolis Colts. Kelce hauled in nine catches for 101 yards and a touchdown in the contest. The veteran tight end led the team in catches, receiving yards, and targets while operating as quarterback Patrick Mahomes' favorite weapon in the passing attack.
The 36-year-old will look to repeat this performance in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins defense has struggled to begin the season, allowing an average of 31 points to opposing teams, including 35 points to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2. Kelce should remain a top target in the Kansas City offense given his productivity and rapport with Mahomes. The superstar tight end should continue to be viewed as a TE1, especially in a revamped Chiefs offense and a smash matchup against the Miami Dolphins.
