Should I Pick Up Jordan Whittington or Colby Parkinson? Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 16

Colby Parkinson - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Should I pickup Jordan Whittington or Colby Parkinson as fantasy football waiver wire pickups for Week 16 of 2025? Read our fantasy football waiver wire outlooks.

One of the NFL's best passing attacks is down a key member.

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams suffered a hamstring injury in the Week 15 win over the Detroit Lions. He entered the game with a hamstring issue, so this setback will surely keep him out at least a week, especially since the Rams play again on Thursday night.

With targets up for grabs, should you pick up Jordan Whittington or Colby Parkinson ahead of Week 16? Let's dive in.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Jordan Whittington Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook

Whittington flashed some potential in relief duty during his rookie season when both Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp were sidelined. This year, however, he's been far more under the radar, catching 17 passes in 15 games. He only caught two passes for nine yards in the lone game Nacua missed. Tutu Atwell also quickly got hurt in that game.

Sean McVay has rotated wide receivers consistently throughout the season. Konata Mumpfield played the third-most snaps - just one behind Adams - against Detroit. Whittington, Atwell, and Xavier Smith barely played.

The game plan could change against Seattle, but that doesn't necessarily mean Whittington will be the wideout to see the field the most. It could be any of the group. Regardless, it's Nacua or bust.

Colby Parkinson Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Outlook

As often as McVay substitutes wide receivers, he also rotates tight ends and often deploys two or more at the same time. Parkinson, rookie Terrance Ferguson, and Davis Allen all played more than 75 percent of the snaps against Detroit. After Adams left the game, the Rams only ran plays out of 13 personnel.

Parkinson was the third option for Matthew Stafford on Sunday. His seven targets trailed Nacua (11) and Adams (eight). He turned them into five catches for 75 yards and two touchdowns. Tyler Higbee got injured in Week 11. Since Parkinson moved up the depth chart, he's scored four touchdowns in four games.

That streak actually extends to before Higbee's injury. That's at least one touchdown in every game but one since Week 10.

Should I Pick Up Jordan Whittington or Colby Parkinson For Fantasy Football?

The wide receivers will likely split the snaps and targets. None of the group is a one-to-one replacement for Adams. The risk isn't worth the reward for Whittington or Atwell, especially at this point in the fantasy playoffs.

Parkinson, however, is a different story. He's against his former team, the Seattle Seahawks, in Week 16. Parkinson already scored against them this season, and that's before he was the starter.

The Seahawks allow the sixth-most fantasy points per game to tight ends. They only trail the all-time bad Cincinnati defense in yards and receptions to the position.

Fantasy managers who have been streaming the tight end position this season, or are faced with a brutal matchup in Week 16 (like Harold Fannin Jr. versus Buffalo), Parkinson is squarely on the streaming radar.
