DraftKings Main CFB DFS Lineup Picks: Daily College Fantasy Football (9/14/24)

Ollie Gordon II - College Football Rankings, NCAA CFB DFS Lineup Picks

Mike's DraftKings daily fantasy college football lineup picks for Saturday's Main Slate (9/14/24). His CFB DFS lineup picks and DFS sleepers will help you win.

We have another dozen games in the main tournament on DraftKings today. The marquee game in Madison between Alabama and Wisconsin isn't as exciting as last week, but the DFS result could be largely the same. We're light on morning kicks, but Memphis in Tallahassee promises to be fun. Oklahoma State making the trip to Tulsa is fun as well (who can forget the 2010 game?). LSU heads to Columbia to take on South Carolina. Boston College heads to the other Columbia for a date with Missouri.

Tulane opens the afternoon in Norman. Nevada is in Minneapolis to face the Gophers. We have the Civil War from Corvallis (which should be at night). We have the Apple Cup in Seattle at Lumen Field instead of Husky Stadium. A&M heads to Gainesville for some Gator. It's the Backyard Brawl in Pittsburgh. We finish in West Lafayette with the Irish in town. What a slate we have!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college football lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/14/24, locking at noon EDT. I’ll provide multiple player suggestions for players at quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, aiming to highlight one option at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Quarterbacks

John Mateer, Washington State ($8.9K)

Mateer isn't just a runner. He threw for 352 yards and five touchdowns in the opener. He can do both. So, if Washington shuts down the run (likely), he can pass on them instead. Washington's weakest unit last year was the secondary and it's not any better this year. Mateer might be the safest QB option out there today. The rushing upside can go a long way as the matchups get tougher.

Eli Holstein, Pittsburgh ($7.3K)

I'm going back to the well again. West Virginia has allowed 541 yards passing in two games. Holstein has thrown for 638 yards and six touchdowns in two games. One of those was against a Kent team that lost to St. Francis last week. The other one was a solid Cincinnati team in Cincy. I'll trust that Holstein at least gets close to 300 yards again. The stats are on his side.

Hudson Card, Purdue ($6.8K)

Card only missed one of his 25 pass attempts in the opener. He's not going to do that to the Irish, but we did see Northern Illinois have success through the air with a (presumably) lesser quarterback. The biggest takeaway from that game is that Card wasn't locked on any one receiver like he was with Deion Burks last year. His willingness to throw to different receivers is really going to help against the Irish.

Brendon Lewis, Nevada ($6.5K)

This is not an easy matchup for Lewis. The last time he was on a national stage, we saw him flounder with Colorado in 2022. A move to Reno has helped and Lewis finally has harnessed his arm talent to go with his wheels. The rushing upside is needed to think about starting him against a team like Minnesota. Lewis is going to have a hard time hitting 20 DK points in this one, but he should get close.

Also consider: Garrett Nussmeier, LSU ($9.1K); Alan Bowman, Oklahoma State ($8.3K); LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina ($6.2K); Darian Mensah, Tulane ($6.1K)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Running Backs

Ollie Gordon II, Oklahoma State ($10K)

This inflated price is going to be tough to pay for Ollie, but it might be worth it. The Arkansas defense seems better than many of us thought. If that's true, we should see a renewed commitment to Gordon in this game. If I'm right, he's going for 200 yards. His ceiling is almost limitless.

Desmond Reid, Pittsburgh ($6.4K)

Lock in Reid at this price. He has 293 rushing yards in two games and he returns punts. He got us an extra touchdown in the opener against Kent with a punt return TD. Reid also racked up 106 receiving yards against the Bearcats. He is the most used piece of the Pittsburgh puzzle and he's still (errantly) this cheap. You can't leave him sitting there.

Mario Anderson Jr., Memphis ($6.2K)

The Seminoles have been punished on the ground. They have allowed 453 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground in just two games. Anderson already has four rushing touchdowns and racked up 125 yards in the win over Troy. We'll see a healthy workload from Anderson again. With as bad as the FSU run D has been, Anderson could be in for a big day.

Anthony Hankerson, Oregon State ($5.4K)

Hankerson isn't Ashton Jeanty, but Jeanty did highlight the struggles of Oregon to stop the run. Hankerson ran for 71 yards against a tough San Diego State defense. He should be good for triple digits and a touchdown against their rivals at home.

Also consider: Le'Veon Moss, Texas A&M ($7.1K); Jam Miller, Alabama ($7K); Jonah Coleman, Washington ($6.8K); Savion Red, Nevada (4.8K); Devin Mockobee, Purdue ($4.4K)

DraftKings CFB DFS Picks - Wide Receivers

Giles Jackson, Washington ($6.9K)

Jackson already has 16 receptions in two games, so he is piling up points even though he hasn't found the end zone yet. His time will come. Jackson is bound to break loose on one of those short passes and find the end zone. Even if he doesn't, Jackson might have the best floor of any receiver on the slate.

Konata Mumpfield, Pittsburgh ($6K)

Mumpfield has 10 receptions in two games, but he could have 15 if it weren't for the dropped passes. He looked better against Cincinnati in the second half and was instrumental in Pitt's comeback win. Expect another big game for him in the Backyard Brawl.

Elijhah Badger, Florida (4.6K)

The Arizona State transfer clicked with DJ Lagway last week, but he was solid with Graham Mertz in there against Miami as well. He should be safe no matter how the quarterback situation plays out. If Eugene Wilson III is limited or out, Badger could have a monster game. He might anyway!

Aaron Anderson, LSU ($4.1K)

Anderson has five receptions in each of the first two games. The South Carolina defense has been really good so far, meaning Anderson and his shorter receptions could be the order of the day for LSU again. He has a nice floor for the price.

Also consider: Kyren Lacy, LSU ($8.4K); Evan Stewart, Oregon ($6.8K); Denzel Boston, Washington ($6.4K); Kamdyn Benjamin, Tulsa ($5.7K); Raphael Williams Jr., Pittsburgh ($4.6K); Cortez Braham Jr., Nevada ($4.4K); Max Klare, Purdue ($3.4K)

DraftKings CFB Stacks

Washington

I expect a close Apple Cup, but that doesn't mean it won't be high-scoring. Coleman is my favorite play. Will Rogers will get the ball to all of his receivers. Jeremiah Hunter might have the most upside with Giles Jackson having the best floor.

Memphis

The FSU defense has been a wreck. Mario Anderson is one of my favorite plays on the entire slate. Teams haven't had to pass on the Seminoles so they haven't. That might change today. If it does, Seth Henigan and Roc Taylor are the ones you want.

Also consider: Tulsa, Oklahoma State, Purdue
