Is Cade Povich a fantasy baseball waiver wire pickup for pitchers heading into Week 12 (2024)? Read the fantasy football outlook for the Orioles starting pitcher.
BALLER MOVE: Do not add (yet).

ANALYSIS: Rookie SP Cade Povich made his major league debut last week against the Blue Jays and pitched as poorly as possible. The 24-year-old left-hander allowed six runs in 5 1/3 innings with just two strikeouts to four walks. Luckily, he has a chance to redeem himself this week against the slumping Atlanta Braves.
Povich is a back-end top-100 prospect who crushed Triple-A this season. Through 11 starts, he posted a 3.18 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and 23.4% K-BB. Povich's ERA between 2022 and 2023 was above 4.00 at every level outside of two starts with Baltimore's High-A team. He is a command-over-stuff pitcher who can generate high strikeout numbers and will pitch at a tough home park for hitters. If Povich finds his Triple-A self in MLB, he should be a valuable fantasy SP.
He should remain on waiver wires for the time being as his starts after this week line up in New York against the Yankees and then at home against a tough Cleveland Guardians offense versus LHP.
