Full 2024 Pro Bowl Rosters - Replacements For Patrick Mahomes, Christian McCaffrey, Travis Kelce, and more

Travis Kelce - Fantasy Football Tight Ends You Must Have in 2024

What are the full 2024 NFL Pro Bowl rosters? Who are the replacements for Patrick Mahomes, Christian McCaffrey, and Travis Kelce? Joey Pollizze dives in on who replaced those players in the 2024 Pro Bowl Games.

While the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs game plan for Super Bowl LVIII on February 11, the Pro Bowl Games will occur this week in Orlando. Thursday will feature a skills competition between the AFC and NFC with games that include dodgeball, a precision pass competition, and a best catch competition.

Then, on Sunday, the NFC will battle the AFC in a flag football game. The NFC will be coached by Eli Manning, while the AFC will be coached by Peyton Manning.

But which players will be participating in the Pro Bowl? Who will replace Patrick Mahomes, Christian McCaffrey, and Travis Kelce? Let's dive in and see which players make the final roster.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Original 2024 Pro Bowl Roster: Offense

At the beginning of January, the NFL announced the Pro Bowl rosters for the 2023-2024 season. For the most part, the selections seemed fair. The AFC quarterbacks were Tua Tagovailoa -- who was listed as the starter -- Lamar Jackson, and Mahomes. In the NFC, Brock Purdy led the way as the starter with Dak Prescott and Matthew Stafford also getting selected.

At running back, Raheem Mostert, James Cook, and Derrick Henry will lead the AFC backfield, while McCaffrey, D'Andre Swift, and Kyren Williams will lead the NFC backfield. At wide receiver, Tyreek Hill, Amari Cooper, Keenan Allen, and Ja'Marr Chase were selected in the AFC, while CeeDee Lamb, A.J. Brown, Mike Evans, and Puka Nacua were chosen on the NFC side.

Only two tight ends were selected on each side and those were David Njoku and Kelce in the AFC, and George Kittle and Sam LaPorta in the NFC. The full list of original Pro Bowl selections on offense can be seen below, including the offensive lineman.

Original 2024 Pro Bowl Roster: Defense

On the defensive side, plenty of deserving stars made the Pro Bowl, including Nick Bosa, Chris Jones, Micah Parsons, T.J. Watt, Jalen Ramsey, and Sauce Gardner. Compared to the offensive side, there will be way fewer replacements for the games this weekend.

However, since the Chiefs made it to the Super Bowl, Jones will need a replacement on the AFC side. Other than that, Khalil Mack, Watt, and Maxx Crosby will also all need replacements on defense, as they are opting out of the Pro Bowl.

For the NFC, Bosa, Javon Hargrave, Fred Warner, and Charvarius Ward will all need replacements for Sunday since the 49ers will be playing in the Super Bowl next week. Other than that, only Aaron Donald will need a replacement. Every other player has accepted an invite to Orlando.

Updated Pro Bowl Rosters With Replacements: Offense

The offensive group that was chosen in both the AFC and NFC will look completely different than the original selections. Five of the six quarterbacks (Jackson, Mahomes, Purdy, Prescott, and Stafford) who were originally selected for the Pro Bowl will not participate this weekend. Only Tagovailoa will accept an invite to Orlando.

The quarterbacks that will replace Jackson and Mahomes on the AFC side are C.J. Stroud and Gardner Minshew. On the NFC, Jalen Hurts replaces Purdy, Baker Mayfield replaces Prescott, and Geno Smith replaces Stafford.

Most of the running backs that were selected will play in the Pro Bowl, and the only one that isn't (McCaffrey) can't because his team is in the Super Bowl. The replacement for the 49ers running back will be rookie Jahmyr Gibbs. So, the NFC backfield will now feature Swift, Williams, and Gibbs.

A minor replacement will happen at the fullback position as C.J. Ham will replace Kyle Juszczyk for the NFC. Alec Ingold will remain the starting fullback for the AFC side.

At wide receiver, five of the eight original selectees will play in Orlando. Stefon Diggs replaces Amari Cooper in the AFC, while Amon-Ra St. Brown replaces Brown, and DK Metcalf replaces Evans on the NFC side. After a career year for the Lions wideout, it's nice to see him make his second Pro Bowl appearance.

Finally, with Kittle and Kelce both playing in the Super Bowl, their two replacements are also well-deserved selections. Jake Ferguson will make his first career Pro Bowl, and Evan Engram replaces the Chiefs' tight end after he caught 114 passes during the 2023-2024 season.

Updated Pro Bowl Rosters With Replacements: Defense

There aren't as many replacements on the defensive side compared to the offense. But some are noteworthy.

On the AFC side, DeForest Buckner replaces Jones at defensive line after an 81-tackle, eight-sack season. Rookie Will Anderson Jr. replaces Crosby, who got offseason knee surgery. Anderson finished the year with seven sacks across 15 games. Then, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah replaces Watt while Jermaine Johnson II replaces Mack. Both replacements were key contributors to a top-seven defense.

To round out the replacements, Derrick Brown replaces the veteran Donald at the defensive line position on the NFC side. Brown was snubbed the first time around following his 103 tackle season. Kenny Clark will also replace another defensive tackle in Hargrave, who will be playing in Super Bowl LVIII.

Bosa's replacement is DeMarcus Lawrence -- who had a solid season for the Dallas Cowboys -- and Darius Slay will make his sixth Pro Bowl in place of Ward.
