Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 6:
Travis Etienne Jr., RB, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. had a quiet Week 5, but should have a better week this week against the Seattle Seahawks.
Etienne Jr. only had 12 rushing attempts, his lowest of the season, and Trevor Lawrence vultured two red zone touchdowns. If the bell-cow back can find the endzone again this week, he should easily clear double digit fantasy points.
The volume and overall team success bodes well for Etienne Jr. in Week 6 and beyond to continue earning touches and exceeding preseason expectations. Even against a solid rush defense, Etienne Jr. is a high-end RB2 this week, just as he has been the past few weeks.
Drake London, WR, Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London had his best game of the season by far his last time out, putting up 110 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets and eight catches. The 24-year-old is averaging over nine targets per contest and has had at least five catches in three of his four games, however, Week 6 brings a matchup with Buffalo.
The Bills have held receivers to the eighth-fewest half-point PPR points and are allowing only 154 yards per game through the air, the second fewest in the league. On the other hand, Darnell Mooney (hamstring) has been ruled out for Monday's contest, and that could mean a couple of extra looks for London, who already owns a team-best 28.5 percent target share and has the most red zone targets of any of the team's wide receivers.
The Falcons could be playing from behind for much of the game as well, so expect London to be the focal point of the receiving corps once again. It may not be a big yardage day for the 6-foot-4 wideout, but his heavy usage in the passing game makes him a mid-range WR1 most weeks, including Week 6.
Kimani Vidal, RB, Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers running back Kimani Vidal enters Week 6 against the Miami Dolphins, sharing the backfield with Hassan Haskins after Omarion Hampton (ankle) was placed on IR this week. Vidal looked like the more explosive option last week, averaging 4.5 yards per carry on four rushes and splitting targets with Haskins.
Facing the Miami Dolphins, who rank dead last in average rushing yards allowed, presents a significant opportunity for the backfield. However, OC Greg Roman confirmed a committee approach that limits Vidal's volume. Although he's capable in the passing game, don't assume Vidal is set to handle most pass-catching downs, as he only posted 18 receptions in his final year at Troy. RotoBaller ranks him as RB33.
He could be more of a touchdown-dependent high-end RB3/FLEX option this week, and managers should monitor his usage throughout the game.
Zay Flowers, WR, Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers (shoulder) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the visiting Los Angeles Rams in Week 6, according to Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun.
While it's possible that Flowers could end up suiting up this weekend against the Rams, the 25-year-old's weekly fantasy appeal has already taken a hit now that we know quarterback Lamar Jackson (hamstring) will miss a second straight game. With backup QB Cooper Rush running the offense again on Sunday, Flowers and the rest of Baltimore's offensive skill players will not be as reliable in starting fantasy lineups.
Flowers had a decent game in last week's loss to the Houston Texans, catching all five of his targets for 72 yards. However, his fantasy ceiling and floor will be lowered in Week 6 if he's active. If the Ravens give Flowers a rest before their bye next week, DeAndre Hopkins and Rashod Bateman would be the team's top two pass-catchers.
Derrick Henry, RB, Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry continues to see his fantasy value diminish each week. In half-PPR formats, he's finished in RB1 territory only one time and has scored double-digit fantasy points twice.
He only has one more touchdown than he does fumbles, and he still doesn't play any part in the passing game. Their opponent, the Los Angeles Rams, is currently ranked as the third-toughest team against running backs in fantasy as they give up just 15.56 fantasy points per matchup.
They held Christian McCaffrey to 57 yards on 22 carries and Saquon Barkley to 46 yards on 18 carries. That combined with the Ravens' offensive line issues and fullback Patrick Ricard (calf) still sidelined, means Henry is projected to finish around RB19.
