Bryan Rust Remains Out Against Islanders
Pittsburgh Penguins right wing Bryan Rust (lower body) will miss Thursday's matchup against the New York Islanders. The American veteran participated in the morning skate but isn't yet ready for game action. At the start of the month, the Penguins announced that Rust must sit out a minimum of two weeks with a lower-body injury, so his return should be near. In Rust's absence, rookie Ville Koivunen has earned a chance to start the season on the first line next to Sidney Crosby, while Justin Brazeau is also filling a top-six role. The latter scored twice as Pittsburgh opened its campaign with a 3-0 victory over the New York Rangers on Tuesday night.
