Week 6 Defense (DST) Rankings Outlooks
Pittsburgh Steelers D/ST
The Pittsburgh Steelers, fresh off their Week 5 bye, are getting healthier on defense ahead of a divisional clash with the Cleveland Browns. Although defensive back Jalen Ramsey (hamstring) is questionable to suit up, cornerback Joey Porter Jr. (hamstring) and linebacker Alex Highsmith (ankle) are set to return after missing multiple games.
Pittsburgh's defense wreaked havoc in Weeks 3 and 4, forcing seven turnovers and recording 11 sacks, and now returns home to face rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel in his second NFL start. While Ramsey's availability could slightly impact the unit's ceiling, there are few safer fantasy options than the Steelers DST this week in what projects to be a low-scoring affair.
Green Bay Packers D/ST
The Packers' defense and special teams unit are coming off a disappointing performance in Week 4, where they gave up 40 points to the Dallas Cowboys. That resulted in a 40-40 tie, and the team had to sit on that loss for a week as the Packers had their Week 5 bye to get right. Luckily, they host the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 6, who are on their third quarterback this season.
It's a familiar signal-caller, as Joe Flacco takes the reins of the Bengals' offense to face the Packers for the second time in three weeks. The Packers are a good bet to get back to basics and dominate a weaker Cincinnati offensive line. At home and well-rested, the Packers are one of the best D/ST plays of the Week 6 slate and should be started universally in fantasy football this week.
Las Vegas Raiders D/ST
The Las Vegas Raiders' defense has endured a rough start to the season, logging negative fantasy outputs twice and only delivering in their Week 1 matchup against the Patriots. However, Week 6 presents a prime opportunity for a rebound as they face a struggling Tennessee Titans offense. The Titans have surrendered the second-most fantasy points to opposing defenses this season and continue to rank near the bottom in nearly every major offensive category.
With Maxx Crosby anchoring the pass rush, the Raiders have a strong chance to generate turnovers and sacks against a mistake-prone Titans squad. Fantasy managers seeking a streaming option should look no further--Las Vegas profiles as a sneaky top-10 defensive play this week with legitimate upside in a favorable matchup.
Los Angeles Rams D/ST
The Los Angeles Rams defense should be started in most fantasy leagues ahead of Week 6 against the Baltimore Ravens. While Baltimore is typically a very strong offense, the unit has struggled lately, largely due to the absence of Lamar Jackson (hamstring).
Jackson has been ruled out for Sunday, which means that Cooper Rush will be tasked with quarterbacking the Ravens against a strong Rams defense. Rush took one sack and threw three interceptions last week, providing a huge boost to the Texans D/ST in fantasy football. The Rams D/ST should experience a similar boost this week. RotoBaller has the Rams ranked #4 among all D/ST units for Week 6.
