New Jersey Devils right wing Evgenii Dadonov (hand) played only two shifts in the third period of Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. Dadonov was unable to re-enter the game after taking a shot to the hand. According to Devils head coach Sheldon Keefe, Dadonov was unable to grip his stick after getting hit by the shot. Fortunately, X-rays on Dadonov's hand returned negative results, which is a positive sign. However, he should still be considered questionable for Saturday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Dadonov is a fresh face in New Jersey and saw action on the top line during Thursday's game. If the Russian veteran is unable to play this weekend, Ondrej Palat is likely to take on a top-six role.--Taavi Pailk
