X-Rays Show No Breaks For Kenta Maeda
2 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Kenta Maeda's (ankle) X-rays showed no breaks after he was hit by a comebacker in his left ankle on Thursday in his outing against the Boston Red Sox. He has been walking around on his own and didn't even have his ankle wrapped. Maeda will see how he feels on Friday and in the coming days before the Twins announce whether he'll be able to make his next start. The 35-year-old veteran only made it through two innings on Thursday, and he'll be an extremely risky fantasy option next week if he makes his scheduled outing against the New York Yankees. Entering Thursday's game, Maeda had allowed five runs on 11 hits (two homers) while walking none and striking out 12 in 11 innings over two starts. He's attempting to bounce back in 2023 after missing all of last year due to Tommy John surgery.
