X-Rays On Jesse Chavez Come Back Negative
2 years agoX-rays came back negative on Atlanta Braves right-hander Jesse Chavez (shin) on Wednesday after he was hit by a comebacker on his left shin bone in Game 2 of a doubleheader against the Detroit Tigers. Chavez could still miss some time, but it looks like he avoided a serious injury. The 39-year-old right-hander didn't officially record an out and allowed one hit in his outing on Wednesday before departing the contest. He has just one save in 29 relief appearances for Atlanta so far this year, but he's also sporting a strong 1.55 ERA (2.48 FIP), 1.00 WHIP and 36 strikeouts in 29 innings pitched. Chavez isn't much to look at for fantasy purposes, but he's been a key bullpen piece for the Braves so far this year.
