Tyler Allgeier Still "An Important Part Of Offense"
2 years agoThe Atlanta Falcons surprisingly took Texas running back Bijan Robinson with the No. 8 overall pick in the first round of the NFL draft on Thursday night. He has a quick-twitch, elusive running style that the Falcons expect to complement the more bruising style of Tyler Allgeier, who head coach Arthur Smith said is still "a very important part of this offense." Allgeier, 23, set the rookie franchise record with 1,035 yards, but his fantasy stock will take a major hit with Robinson joining the fold. The Falcons also still have Cordarrelle Patterson as an option in the backfield. Atlanta will surely be a run-first offense under Smith, but even then, Allgeier is going to struggle for consistent enough touches to make it worth your while in fantasy.
