Travis d'Arnaud Signs One-Year Deal With Braves
1 year agoThe Atlanta Braves signed catcher Travis d'Arnaud to a one-year, $8 million deal for the 2024 season, and it includes an $8 million club option for the 2025 season with no buyout. Now that young backstop Sean Murphy is in Atlanta, d'Arnaud, 34, hasn't been playing as much in 2023. However, he's still been plenty productive with the bat by hitting .265 (36-for-136) with eight home runs, five doubles, 23 RBI and 19 runs scored in 151 trips to the plate over 38 games. The veteran backstop can still be useful in two-catcher leagues, even though the playing time has taken a bit of a hit this year. d'Arnaud was a first-time All-Star in 2022, when he hit .268/.319/.472 with a career-high 18 long balls and 60 RBI in 107 games.
