Rafael Devers Is The Next Wave of 3B Talent
7 years agoRafael Devers has long been a hyped prospect in Boston and all of the minor leagues. His bat has been more than worth the verbal accolades given to him. He hit 10 home runs in 58 games after he was called up in 2017. He had a .285 average and a .344 weighted on base average giving reassurance of maintaining or even expecting more from Devers. He also had a .344 on-base percentage and .482 slugging percentage. Devers’ entire slash line exceeded league averages, even as a rookie. Devers did have a strikeout percentage of 23.8, but he demonstrated excellent contact and plate awareness during the minors so this will definitely improve. The one stat worth watching is that Devers hit .250 against right-handed pitchers. Even as a 21 year old, Devers has demonstrated he can handle major league pitching. Draft Devers if he is still available in the seventh round. Everyone knows his name so you might have to select Devers higher if you really want him.
