The San Diego Padres have tapped Jayce Tingler as their new manager. Reported by ESPN’s Jeff Passan, Tingler becomes the second-youngest manager in the majors and comes as a surprise amidst the Padres extensive search. Tingler has limited coaching experience but has a history with Friars General Manager A.J. Preller. His reputation around baseball is a knack for player development and his Spanish fluency should carry weight considering the Padres investment in Latin America. The move minimally impacts fantasy baseball, as the Padres wrapped up another disappointing season including an abysmal second half.
