Mitch Trubisky Expected To Start Against Panthers
2 years agoThe Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to start quarterback Mitch Trubisky against the Carolina Panthers in Week 15 on Sunday, according to sources. Head coach Mike Tomlin is going back to the signal-caller who has served as their backup all season with rookie Kenny Pickett doubtful to play because he's still in the league's concussion protocol. Trubisky and third-stringer Mason Rudolph split first-team repetitions in practice this week, leading to some speculation that the Steelers might go with Rudolph this weekend. We could still see Rudolph in this game if Trubisky struggles early. The 28-year-old went 22-for-30 for 276 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in relief of Pickett in last week's loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He'll likely be on a short leash against Carolina, making him nothing more than a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues.
