Lance McCullers Jr. Out Until Closer To All-Star Break
2 years agoHouston Astros starting pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. (forearm) will be out until closer to the All-Star break or after, according to general manager Dana Brown. McCullers has been rehabbing since injuries his right forearm on Feb. 14 and progressed to throwing 37 pitches in a bullpen last Tuesday. He played catch on flat ground on Sunday. "There again, we want to get him back for the rest of the season; we don't want to rush him. He has to go through his spring training innings and that's going to be important for him to build up," Brown said. Fantasy managers will have to wait a little longer for the 29-year-old to make his 2023 debut. He pitched in just eight games in 2022 due to injury as well, and it might take a while before McCullers is back to his pre-injury form in the second half of 2023.
