Kenta Maeda Exits Wednesday's Game With Injury
2 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Kenta Maeda (back) exited his start early on Wednesday in the fourth inning against the New York Yankees and was accompanied by head athletic trainer Nick Paparesta. Maeda appeared to be grabbing at his back, but we'll update you on his condition when we know more details. He clearly wasn't feeling right in this outing, especially with the Yankees bunting on him early and often. Along with the injury, the 35-year-old's day was downright disastrous, as he allowed 10 earned runs on 11 hits while walking two and striking out two before he left. Maeda also left his previous start early due to an ankle injury, so things haven't gone well for him so far in his first season back from Tommy John surgery. The veteran right-hander now has a 9.00 ERA and could be headed for an injured list stint.
