Jose Berrios Takes Tough-Luck Loss Tuesday
Jose Berrios allowed one run over seven innings of work on Tuesday, but was unfortunately saddled with the loss as his club fell to the Rays 2-0. The right-hander struck out four on the night without issuing a free pass while surrendering just four hits with the only damage coming off a Ji-Man Choi solo home run in the second. After rattling off three-straight wins, Berrios' record now drops to 11-8 on the year with a sharp 3.43 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and 181 K through 173 1/3 IP this season. The 27-year-old will get a rematch with the Rays in his next scheduled start next week where he should continue to be fired up in all lineups.
