Jon Gray Scratched From Tuesday's Start With Blister
11 months agoTexas Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said that starting pitcher Jon Gray (finger) will be scratched from his scheduled start on Tuesday against the division-rival Los Angeles Angels due to a blister. The move is mostly precautionary to prevent a bigger injury, and he's not expected to need a stint on the injured list. It's unknown who will start in Gray's place, but Cody Bradford is with the team in Arlington. It's a bummer for fantasy managers expecting to use Gray in their lineups this week, but hopefully he'll only end up missing the one start. The 31-year-old right-hander fanned 12 batters in a complete-game win his last time out against the St. Louis Cardinals. He's been great this year for Texas, going 6-2 with a career-best 2.32 ERA (4.17 FIP), 0.96 WHIP, 20 walks and 63 strikeouts in 73 2/3 frames over his 12 starts.
