Jazz Chisholm Jr. Will Need Offseason Surgery
2 years agoMiami Marlins outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. (toe) remains on the injured list with turf toe, but he has rejoined the team on their three-city road trip and is hitting, playing catch and doing running and jumping drills to test his toes. He said he will need offseason surgery on his toe, and he's using a contraption between his big and pointer toes to keep them in place. Barring a setback, the 25-year-old should be able to rejoin the Fish in the next couple of weeks, but it remains to be seen how his turf-toe injury will affect his production on the field, especially on the base paths. Before the injury, Chisholm was hitting just .229 (33-for-144) with seven home runs, 16 RBI and 16 runs scored, but he did have 14 stolen bases.
