Jaguars Hoping To Extend Evan Engram By Training Camp
2 years agoJacksonville Jaguars general manager Trent Baalke said that the goal is to get a long-term contract extension done with franchise-tagged tight end Evan Engram before training camp begins at the end of July. "We're trending in that direction, but we're not there yet. Hopefully we can get that done," Baalke said. Engram won't take part in the team's voluntary offseason program and hasn't signed the franchise tender, but none of that will matter if the team signs the 28-year-old tight end to a long-term deal after he had career-highs in catches (73), and receiving yards (766) while scoring four touchdowns in 17 regular season games (14 starts) in his first year in Jacksonville in 2022. Engram established himself as a firm TE1 target in fantasy heading into the 2023 campaign.
