Freddie Freeman Steals His First Base Of The Year
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman swiped his first bag of the season in Thursday night's 6-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs. At the plate, Freeman went hitless in four at-bats with one walk. While the 33-year-old left-handed slugger didn't get a hit in the game, he extended his on-base streak to six games with a free pass. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect Freeman to best his career-high 13 stolen bases from a year ago, but it's nice to see him swipe a bag every now and then to add to his already high fantasy value on one of the best teams in the big leagues. Through his first 20 games of 2023, Freeman is hitting a strong .295 (23-for-78) with four doubles, three home runs, seven RBI, one steal and 16 runs scored.
