Dodgers, Red Sox In On Justin Turner
2 years agoThe Los Angeles Dodgers haven't ruled out re-signing third baseman Justin Turner, even after adding slugger J.D. Martinez on Saturday. Other possibilities for Turner include the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Miami Marlins. The New York Post's Jon Heyman also reports that the Boston Red Sox are heavily in the mix for Turner, along with a couple other players. Turner has been seeking a two-year deal and should sign somewhere soon. The Red Sox would obviously be looking to replace some of Martinez's production on offense. The 38-year-old Turner had his $16 million option for 2023 declined by the Dodgers, making him a free agent after he hit just 13 home runs last year -- his lowest total since 2014 in a full season. The two-time All-Star still has excellent plate discipline and on-base prowess, but he's clearly headed toward the tail end of his career.
