Carlos Rodon Notches 17th Win on Saturday
Carlos Rodon stayed on a roll on Saturday and improved to 17-9 in a 6-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles. Rodon held the Orioles to one run on four hits and logged eight strikeouts against one walk to pick up his fifth straight quality start. The 32-year-old hasn't allowed more than two runs in a game since Aug. 1 - an eight-start, 54 2/3-inning span in which he has pitched to a 2.33 ERA. In what will go down as one of the best seasons of his career, the three-time All-Star has recorded a 3.04 ERA with a 1.06 WHIP, 198 strikeouts, and 72 walks over 189 1/3 innings. Rodon is scheduled for a rematch against the Orioles on Friday in his final start of the regular season.
