5 months agoThe Toronto Blue Jays have made an offer to free-agent relief pitcher Sergio Romo, according to sources. The Twins and Rangers also have interest in him on a minor league deal. Romo, 36 next month, is a versatile and veteran reliever who posted a 4.14 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 75 K's in 67 1/3 innings (73 appearances, five starts) with the Rays in 2018. He has 109 career saves and slammed the door 25 times last year to go along with a solid 10.1 career K/9 in 11 seasons. In Toronto, he'd merely be a setup man to closer Ken Giles, so he wouldn't have very much fantasy appeal. Moving to a more hitter-friendly park and staying in the tough American League East also wouldn't help his cause.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
