Anthony Rizzo Slumping
2 years agoNew York Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo, who was the team's most consistent bat through the first two months of the season, has gone 0-for-22 since outfielder Aaron Judge (toe) got injured. "He's just going through a tough stretch right now," manager Aaron Boone said. "I thought his [batting practice Sunday] was good. Hopefully Tuesday we'll start to see some fruits of that." The rough patch has dropped the 33-year-old left-handed slugger's season slash line to .269/.344/.444 with eight doubles, 11 home runs, 32 RBI and 32 runs scored in 262 trips to the plate over 61 games. Rizzo has also dealt with some neck issues recently, so perhaps that has something to do with his cold stretch offensively.
