ANALYSIS: Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Greg Dortch’s path to his current role has not been easy. Undrafted out of college, Dortch found his way to the NFL as a rookie free agent in 2019, signing on to the practice squads of three different teams during that season. He eventually landed in Arizona in 2021, and his time to break out might be upon us.
Great stuff from @AZCardinals WR Greg Dortch on his journey.
Undrafted free agent. Cut 6 x by 5 different teams. 4 different practice squads.
Now a starting WR in NFL.

In Week 1, Dortch’s eight targets were the second-highest on the team after Trey McBride’s nine. Dortch turned those opportunities into six catches for 47 yards, both team highs. While Dortch was only on the field for 37 of Arizona’s 61 snaps in Week 1, he was also targeted on 30.6% of routes run. Dortch was also just a tick behind McBride in leading the team in air yards, with a 36% share.
So you drafted Greg Dortch huh...
Welcome to "DortchLand" 🏰🔥💥Since 2022, in the games he played 70% of the snaps w/ Kyler Murray he avg 14 FP/Game.

Coming into 2024, Marvin Harrison Jr. was the Arizona receiver that generated the most hype during the offseason.
Being the fourth overall selection in the NFL Draft begets high expectations, but the Ohio State product fell flat in his debut, looking slow off the line and generating just three targets. There is plenty of time for the rookie to break out, but in the meantime, Dortch may be the wide receiver Kyler Murray trusts most.
In Week 2, Dortch and the Cardinals take on the Rams in what is expected to be a high-scoring affair between the divisional rivals. Los Angeles held Lions slot man Amon-Ra St. Brown to just 13 yards in their season opener, though his status as a 2023 All-Pro likely made him a specific target for the defense.
In the following weeks, Arizona faces Detroit and Washington, who gave up a combined 22 receptions, 193 yards, and two touchdowns to slot receivers Cooper Kupp and Chris Godwin in their respective Week 1 matchups.
