Free MLB Player Props - Today's Prop Betting Picks for Hitters and Pitchers (6/20/23)

Marcus Stroman - fantasy baseball rankings draft sleepers MLB injury news waiver wire pitchers

Today's free MLB prop betting picks for Tuesday, June 20, 2023. Use Dan Palyo's top baseball prop picks and MLB prop bet recommendations to win money on sports books.

It's Tuesday once again and we know that means - that every MLB team is in action tonight and we have 15 games to choose from for player props. We have no shortage of good pitchers on this slate and an abundance of offenses in good spots against pretty bad pitchers, too. I'll do my best to narrow things down to just my favorite five prop bets tonight but these likely won't be the only wagers on which I have some action!

Attention fellow sports bettors! We have some exciting news to share as we are now officially partnered with various sportsbooks and have some sweet sports betting promo offers! In this article, I'll provide my favorite prop bets for MLB games on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. If you ever want to chat about strikeout props or any other MLB bets, you can find me on Twitter @ThunderDanDFS. Good luck today and let's cash some bets!

Editor's Note: The FFPC Playoff Challenge is back with a massive $500,000 grand prize and $1.35 million total prize pool, paying down to 800th place. Here's the deal: no salary cap, no draft, no pickups, no subs. Choose 10 players, and as NFL teams get knocked out so will your players, so choose your team wisely. The 7,250 entries will sell out quickly, and registrations will close on Saturday January 10th at 4:30 pm ET . MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks

Gerrit Cole OVER 7.5 strikeouts (-135 DraftKings)

Of all the aces on tonight's slate, I like Cole's matchup the best as he's taking on a Seattle team with a 25% K% against RHP. Cole's strikeouts have been less consistent than in the past, but he has shown he can still get it done in good spots and he's coming off an excellent 8-strikeout outing against the Mets as he shut them down over six frames.

Cole faced the Mariners last year twice and struck out eight in both meetings. While their lineup has changed a bit as they added some power with Teoscar Hernandez and with Kelenic being an everyday player, they are striking out more often this season.

Ultimately, we are banking on a big-time pitcher showing up in a big spot. This matchup against George Kirby (who owned the Yankees in his last start) should be a good one and Cole is going to have to dominate to keep his team in the game like he did last week in a pitchers' duel against Justin Verlander.

Ben Lively OVER 5.5 strikeouts (-120 DraftKings)

Lively has been a nice surprise for the Reds this year as he continues to get starts in their rotation due to injuries. He's struck out six or more now in four of six starts and today will face a Colorado team with one of the highest recent K rates against righties (26% over the last two weeks).

Lively has been giving up a lot of hits (20 over his last two starts), but he's managed to pitch through trouble and has pitched into the sixth inning in every start. As long as he has that long leash from his manager, he's got a good shot of getting there for us, even if he does give up some hits/runs.

PARLAY: Reid Detmers OVER 1.5 walks (-180) + Marcus Stroman OVER 17.5 outs (-175) = (+144 DraftKings)

I rarely do this, but I am going to suggest a parlay as my final pitching pick. I don't really love too many other K props that aren't really juiced and I don't like recommending straight bets with odds higher than -150. But these two bets are both really good ones I think and pairing them together is going to get us some decent odds at +144.

Let's talk Detmers, first. He's walked two or more now in eight straight starts and he faces the Dodgers today, a team with one of the best walk rates against LHP this season (11.4%).

As for Stroman, he has been in the zone lately and is pitching as well as he has in the last few years. He's not a guy to bet on strikeouts with as those totals can vary greatly, but he has been awesome at run prevention and efficiency, which has allowed him to pitch six or more innings in six straight starts. Six innings (18 outs) is all we need here and he just did that against the Pirates last week. Pittsburgh's offense has been mediocre at best after their hot start in April and I think Stroman can stifle them for six frames again.

MLB Hitter Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks

Jose Ramirez OVER 1.5 total bases (-115)

I'm locked in on two hitters today who have been incredibly consistent and productive over the last two weeks. Let's talk about J-Ram, shall we? After a relatively slow start (by his standards), J-Ram has been heating up of late. Over the last two weeks, he's hitting .388 with 5 home runs, 11 runs scored, and 13 RBI.

Ramirez has hit this prop in 7 out of his last 10 games. He gets to face Ken Waldichuk (a lefty) as the opener and then Luis Medina (a righty) as the long reliever for Oakland today. As a switch-hitter, he maintains the platoon advantage no matter who's pitching and we know Oakland's staff has been easily one of the worst in the majors. J-Ram can get it done with one swing of the bat or a multi-hit game, of which he has six in the last two weeks, too.

Orlando Arcia OVER 1.5  hits + runs +RBI (+120)

This is such a sneaky good prop today and possibly an incredible value as well. Were you aware that Arcia is hitting .341 for Atlanta this season? And he's put up 6 home runs, 25 RBI, and 31 runs scored while hitting in the 8-hole for most of the season. That's how good this Atlanta offense has been - their 8 and 9 hitters (Michael Harris II is heating up, too) could probably be leading off for a lot of other teams.

How about this for a streak - Arcia has hit the over on this prop in EIGHT STRAIGHT games. Over the last two weeks, he's hitting .447 with 2 home runs, 11 runs scored, and 12 walks. He's been absolutely deadly against lefties this year, too, posting a .592 wOBA and .484 ISO and a 20% walk rate. Suarez is no slouch, but he can struggle with RHH and I really like Arcia's chances of finding his way on base and scoring some runs tonight against Philly.
