Week 8 Wide Receiver Rankings Outlooks
Rashid Shaheed, New Orleans Saints
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed led the team with nine targets in the Week 7 loss to the Bears. The speedster caught four passes for 40 yards, marking his sixth straight game with exactly four receptions. Shaheed remains the clear No. 2 option behind Chris Olave, and without the explosive downfield plays, his upside remains capped. He continues to profile as a boom-or-bust player on a weekly basis, and will try to break through against a Buccaneers secondary allowing 7.0 yards per pass attempt and 229.0 passing yards per game.
Wan'Dale Robinson, New York Giants
New York Giants wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson is riding a hot streak and warrants a starting spot in Week 8 as the team's unquestioned top target. He is the 21st-ranked fantasy WR on the season, averaging 10.61 Fantasy Points Per Game, and is operating with an 81.3% snap percentage.
Robinson torched this Eagles secondary two weeks ago with six catches, 84 yards, and a touchdown, a performance he followed up last week with 95 yards on 12 targets. Although the Eagles' defense has been stingy against receiving touchdowns, Robinson has a favorable matchup, facing an opponent that ranks 22nd against fantasy WRs (allowing 34.11 points against). His high volume and recent success against this divisional foe make him a reliable WR2/Flex option.
Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle (hamstring/rest) was limited at practice on Thursday, but does not have an injury designation coming into Week 8's matchup with the Falcons. The Falcons have allowed the second-fewest fantasy points to wide receivers this season, and the Dolphins' passing game has struggled badly under Tua Tagovailoa.
Waddle only had one catch for 15 yards in his worst showing of the season last week against the Browns, but before that, he did have two strong games after the season-ending injury to Tyreek Hill (knee). Waddle has upside as the team's top target, but he is a very shaky play with the matchup and his team's struggles. Even with six teams on a bye week, Waddle is the No. 23 wide receiver in RotoBaller's rankings, making him a shaky start in most formats in this tough road matchup.
