Week 10 Quarterback Rankings Outlooks
Davis Mills, Houston Texans
Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota is expected to be the Commanders' starting QB for the next several weeks following the elbow injury suffered by Jayden Daniels on Sunday night. Daniels is without a timetable to return, but could still be back this season. He'll be sidelined for a while, though, which will allow Mariota to return to the starting role in Washington. He has started three games this season, most recently against the Chiefs in Week 8. He threw for 213 yards and a touchdown in that game and added 28 yards on eight carries.
He also threw an interception, though, and has four picks to go with his four passing scores on the season. He does bring some rushing potential with at least 20 rushing yards each game, but he doesn't offer nearly the ceiling as a dynamic playmaker that Daniels brings. If you need QB help from the waiver wire in two-quarterback leagues, Mariota can be an option, but the veteran backup has a tough matchup against the Lions this week before a more favorable Week 11 matchup against the Dolphins going into the team's Week 12 bye.
Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray (foot) is expected to remain the team's starting quarterback when healthy, despite the quality play of backup Jacoby Brissett, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. Head coach Jonathan Gannon spoke following Arizona's 27-17 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night, saying, "Nothing's changed" regarding Murray's status as the team's starting quarterback. Gannon had "nothing to add" when asked if Brissett has earned more playing time with how well he's operated the offense.
Brissett has led the Cardinals to their three best offensive performances of the season, but Gannon is sticking with the former 2019 No. 1 overall pick despite some up-and-down play this season. Once fully recovered from the foot injury suffered in their Week 5 loss to the Titans, Murray should slide back in atop the depth chart, but plenty of questions will be asked as the week goes along.
Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders
The Washington Commanders still don't have a clear timetable for when quarterback Jayden Daniels (elbow) might return after he suffered a dislocated left elbow in Sunday night's loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9, and head coach Dan Quinn said the team is still collecting information. "It will knock him out for a while for sure," Quinn said. The Commanders should have another update on the second-year signal caller by Wednesday or Thursday. Although nothing is official yet, the 24-year-old is expected to land on Injured Reserve, which would knock him out for at least four games.
The good news, though, is that the injury is to Daniels' non-throwing arm, and X-rays ruled out any fractures. Still, it wouldn't be a surprise if we didn't see Daniels again in 2025. In the meantime, veteran Marcus Mariota will return to a starting role in an offense that is expected to be without top receiver Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) again in Week 10 versus the Detroit Lions.
J.J. McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings
In his first game since suffering a high-ankle sprain in the Week 2 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, Minnesota Vikings second-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy impressively led his team to a big road win over the division-rival Detroit Lions on Sunday in Week 9. While the 22-year-old's final stat line wasn't all that impressive -- he went 14-for-25 passing for only 143 yards -- he did throw two touchdowns and added another score on 12 rushing yards.
What was impressive was the fact that he was able to lead Minnesota to a tough road win behind a shaky offensive line against a strong opponent in just his third career start after a lengthy injury absence. McCarthy's two touchdown passes went to receiver Justin Jefferson and tight end T.J. Hockenson, with both coming in the first half. At the very last, he's worth stashing as a QB2 with upside in fantasy as he heads into a Week 10 meeting against the Baltimore Ravens.
Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers
Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young went 11-for-20 for 102 yards and one interception in the team's 16-13 upset victory over the Green Bay Packers in Week 9. After missing last week's game due to an ankle injury, Young logged his worst fantasy performance of the 2025 season this week, registering only 4.0 fantasy points. The third-year quarterback also recorded the lowest number of passing yards in a game, failing to pass for a touchdown for the first time this season, and had his lowest completion percentage since Week 1 (55%).
Despite Young's struggles, the Panthers won this game through strong performances on defense and the running game. Rico Dowdle scored the Panthers' two touchdowns, while the defense held the Packers to one TD and two field goals. Fantasy players who roster Young in superflex leagues can consider starting him against the Saints in Week 10. New Orleans allowed four TD passes to Matthew Stafford in Week 9.
Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold torched the Washington Commanders' defense in a 38-14 blowout win on Sunday night, completing 21 of 24 pass attempts for 330 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. Darnold was on fire to start the game, posting a perfect 158.3 passer rating while completing all 16 passes and throwing four touchdowns in the first half. His receivers were running open all night, and he consistently delivered on time and on target.
The 28-year-old has continued to excel in his first season in Seattle under offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. Darnold's connection with superstar wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba has been the most potent in the league, adding another 129 yards on eight catches on Sunday night against Washington. Darnold will head back home for a divisional matchup against the Cardinals in Week 10.
