FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (6/28/21): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Mike Marteny highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 6/28/21, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

We have a solid nine-game slate tonight. It would be 11, but FanDuel deemed the early starts in Colorado and Cincinnati offensive and left them off the slate. Too bad. We don't get Coors on this slate. Don't worry. There are still some decent options out there. We'll start where we always do: with the weather.

There's a chance that rain could force the roofs closed in Milwaukee and Houston. Chicago and St. Louis don't have that option, so look out, especially in Chicago. There is a nice wind out to left in Yankee Stadium, but that's the only game that gets a boost from the wind. It's going to be warm and humid in St. Louis, Washington, and Cleveland.

I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 6/28/2021. Be sure to also check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate. FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Cash Game/GPP Anchor Play:

Freddy Peralta – MIL vs. CHC ($9,500)

Peralta pitched against the Cubs three times in April and posted no worse than 27 FanDuel points against them in any of the starts. Yeah, the Chicago offense hadn't really hit it's stride yet. For those of you that haven't noticed though, the Cubs have gone cold again. They are hitting a dismal .186 in the month of June. Even though the homers are plentiful, the Cubs have scored just 85 runs in 25 games. Considering Peralta's domination of them earlier in the year and his 1.55 ERA in seven home starts, I'll ride Peralta here again. He racked up 25 strikeouts in 15 innings against Chicago in April while allowing just eight hits. Eight.

Potential Alternate Play

Zack Greinke – HOU vs. BAL ($8,700)

Yes, Baltimore has had a better month of June, but they are still struggling on the road. The Orioles are still hitting just .221 in road games. Don't forget that this same Houston team just held the Orioles to three games total in a three game series last week. Greinke went 7.1 innings of one-run ball against the O's, racking up 41 FanDuel points in the win last Tuesday. If he can get me that again for this price, I'll be content.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Cody Bellinger – 1B/OF, LAD vs. SF ($4,100)

Yes, the season numbers for Bellinger are still terrible, but both of his homers on the season have come in the last two games. He's finally getting a feel for being at the plate. Bellinger went 3-9 with four walks, two homers, four RBI, and three runs scored in the four game series with the Cubs over the weekend. In fact, Bellinger hasn't been shut out on FanDuel since returning from the IL last Wednesday. I'm willing to say that streak continues here.

Eduardo Escobar – 2B/3B, ARI at STL ($3,400)

Wade LeBlanc will start his first game of the season tonight and it's not like he's been very effective out of the bullpen to warrant this promotion. LeBlanc has a 6.75 ERA in six appearances. Escobar went a blistering 6-12 over the weekend against the Padres with a homer and six RBI to go with his two runs scored. Escobar is a much better hitter from the right side of the plate, hitting 26 points higher in his career against southpaws. This year is right in line with that at 24 points higher.

Jake Lamb – 1B/3B, CWS vs. MIN ($2,400)

Look at this as a way to save some money. We'll need it. Lamb is very familiar with Kenta Maeda from their time in the N.L. West together. Lamb faced Maeda 31 times, picking up nine hits (.290 average), three doubles, two homers, five runs scored, and six RBI. Maeda hasn't been particularly efficient since coming off the IL. That also means Lamb should get at least one at-bat against that putrid bullpen.

Luis Urias – 2B/SS, MIL vs. CHC ($2,900)

Urias is riding a ten-game hitting streak and hasn't been shut out on FanDuel since June 10. Urias has a homer, a steal, and eight RBI during his hit streak. Kyle Hendricks is a solid pitcher, but solid might not get it done against Urias right now. I'll ride the hot bat here.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Aaron Judge – OF, NYY vs. LAA ($4,000)

The Judge likes hitting at Yankee Stadium. He knocked two out of the park against Boston over the weekend, which were his first homers since June 9. There's reason to believe that Judge can get one out tonight as well. Three of his four career hits against Dylan Bundy have left the yard. As if you need another reason, Bundy has allowed four or more earned runs (including seven twice) five times in his last seven starts. A trip to Yankee Stadium isn't going to help those stats.

Kyle Schwarber – OF, WAS vs. NYM ($3,800)

Schwarber has nine homers and 16 RBI in his last seven games. I dare you to find a player that had a better week. Jerad Eickhoff, who pitched four scoreless for the Mets last week in his first start since 2019, is familiar with Schwarber and doesn't particularly like facing him. Schwarber is  3-8 with a pair of homers off of him. It's worth seeing if Schwarber's hot streak can continue or if Miami finally cooled him off.

Max Kepler – OF, MIN at CWS ($3,200)

I wont usually go after a guy like Giolito, but he has struggled some against the Twins in his career. Kepler is 8-27 with a triple, a steal, three homers, four runs scored, and five RBI in his career against Giolito. I expect ownership on the White Sox ace to be fairly high, so there is some leverage to be had here. Kepler was finally showing signs of life until the Cleveland series. If you want to leverage this more, Nelson Cruz has four career homers against Giolito.
