Dynasty Fantasy Football Tight End Player Outlooks

Colston Loveland, Chicago Bears

Despite playing in only two playoff games as a rookie in 2025, Chicago Bears tight end Colston Loveland's 25 postseason targets trailed only Puka Nacua, while only Nacua and Jaxon Smith-Njigba amassed more receiving yards. Standing out from a loaded group of pass catchers when the games mattered most certainly drew the attention of dynasty managers, and with the Bears thinning their pass-catching ranks this offseason by trading away veteran DJ Moore, Loveland has become one of the most sought-after assets in fantasy.

Loveland's 25 targets against the Packers and Rams were more than All-Pro Trey McBride saw over any two-game stretch in a year in which he broke the tight end reception record. While accuracy issues from quarterback Caleb Williams limited the impact of some of that raw volume, the former first overall pick is expected to take another step forward in his second season in Ben Johnson's offense, potentially elevating the entire Chicago offense.

With the passing game expected to run through Loveland, Rome Odunze, and Luther Burden III, the second-year tight end has risen to RotoBaller's dynasty TE3, and at only 22 years old, he is already knocking on the door of the fantasy elite.

Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals

Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride was by far and away the top fantasy TE in 2025 in his fourth year in the NFL, and he was also a Pro Bowler for the second straight season. The 26-year-old finished with career highs across the board in catches (126), receiving yards (1,239), touchdowns (11), and targets (169) in 17 starts.

The former second-rounder in 2022 out of Colorado State surprisingly became even more productive after quarterback Kyler Murray's foot injury opened the door for veteran Jacoby Brissett to start from Week 6 on. Ten of his 11 TDs on the year came with Brissett throwing him the ball, and he led all TEs with 33 red-zone targets.

The good news for McBride's fantasy value in redraft and dynasty leagues going into the 2026 season is that Brissett will enter the year as Arizona's starter again. The one potential concern is the team's new offense under head coach Mike LaFleur, which should be much more balanced than last year's pass-happy attack. But even with an expected volume hit, McBride is an elite player at his position, and RotoBaller has him ranked as the TE2 in dynasty settings, behind only the Raiders' Brock Bowers.

Harold Fannin Jr., Cleveland Browns

A third-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Cleveland Browns tight end Harold Fannin Jr. put together an extremely encouraging rookie season. Despite operating in one of the league's worst offensive environments in Cleveland, Fannin Jr. recorded 72 receptions for 731 yards and six touchdowns on 107 targets across 16 games.

The Browns' outlook on offense isn't much better for 2026, as the team still projects to get bottom-tier quarterback play from the likes of Deshaun WatsonShedeur Sanders, and Dillon Gabriel. Still, Fannin Jr. could be in an even better position to soak up targets with former Browns tight end David Njoku departing for the Los Angeles Chargers in free agency. In dynasty formats, Fannin Jr. profiles as a potential high-end TE1 for years to come as he enters his age-22 season.

Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills

Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid had the best year of his career on a per-target basis in 2025, hauling in 39 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns on 49 targets across 12 games. Unfortunately for both the Bills and fantasy managers, volume continues to be a major impediment to Kincaid's ability to consistently produce.

Thanks to hamstring and recurring knee issues, the 26-year-old has missed nine games over the past two seasons. His durability concerns have also limited his time on the field even in games where he's active, as he played fewer than 50% of Buffalo's offensive snaps in 10 of his 12 games in 2025. While Kincaid will likely always show flashes of high-end upside, his chances of emerging as a reliable, high-end fantasy TE1 appear to be fading. In dynasty formats, managers may want to consider selling Kincaid before the start of the 2026 season.

David Njoku, Los Angeles Chargers

Veteran tight end David Njoku has agreed to a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Chargers worth up to $8 million. The 2023 Pro Bowler played his first nine seasons with the Cleveland Browns but was allowed to reach free agency after ceding work to rookie Harold Fannin Jr. in 2025, resulting in his lowest reception and yardage totals since 2020. In Los Angeles, Njoku adds another option to Justin Herbert's crowded group of pass catchers, already including Ladd McConkeyQuentin Johnston, and Tre' Harris.

Offering a rare blend of size and athleticism, Njoku should still see plenty of fantasy spike weeks, making him an attractive late-round best ball target. Meanwhile, after rising all the way to TE10 in RotoBaller's dynasty rankings, second-year player Oronde Gadsden could now be forced to wait at least one more season before taking over the coveted pass-catching tight end role in offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel's offense.
