Diamondbacks Officially Place Corbin Carroll on 10-Day Injured List
Corbin Carroll (wrist) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to June 21) with a fractured left wrist and recalled outfielder Jake McCarthy from Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move. The D-backs thought Carroll would initially avoid the IL after he was hit by a pitch on his wrist last Wednesday, but additional tests showed a fracture. There is no timetable for a return for the former National League Rookie of the Year, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect to see him back in Arizona's starting lineup until after the All-Star break in mid-July. In the meantime, fantasy managers must keep the former first-rounder stashed in an IL spot everywhere. Veteran Randal Grichuk and McCarthy figure to form a platoon in right field in the desert with Carroll sidelined.
