Here at RotoBaller, we love receivers who have good games seemingly randomly. It's awesome rostering players and having no idea when they'll have good games or when they'll drop absolute duds that can lose you your weeks. There's no better time to have them than in the fantasy playoffs!
That was sarcastic, but you can only work with what you have in fantasy football, and if you're rostering Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver, Quentin Johnston, Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell, or Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs, you may have to make some tough decisions.
We'll try to help you however we can, let's analyze the matchups for these players!
Should I Start Quentin Johnston for Fantasy Football?
Yikes. This is an extremely tough decision to make. On the one hand, the Chargers will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have been terrible against receivers this season. Also, Johnston did score 15.8 PPR fantasy points in Week 14 by catching five of seven targets for 48 yards and a touchdown.

On the other hand, Johnston is not a good receiver. He struggles mightily with... catching the ball. Also, LAC's WR1, Ladd McConkey (knee/shoulder) didn't play last week and is likely to return for this game. And Johnston has been a merchant of scoring on busted coverages.
We aren't comfortable starting him this week in any leagues.
Should I Start Tank Dell for Fantasy Football?
2024 has been a lost season for Dell. He's likely mostly recovered from the broken leg he suffered last season and the gunshot wound he picked up in the offseason, but quarterback C.J. Stroud has taken a huge step back, and the only thing working about the passing game this year is WR Nico Collins, who's incredibly elite.

This isn't Dell's fault. It's Stroud's (and the offensive line's, too). The OL has been awful this season, and Stroud has regressed massively as he's not great under pressure. JAX was a dream matchup for Dell, and despite him beating coverages, he didn't get good passes thrown his way.
We'd still start Dell over Johnston, but they're both bad options.
Should I Start Josh Downs for Fantasy Football?
It would be nice if Downs (shoulder) could get some consistently good quarterback play. He practiced in full on Thursday, so his shoulder injury isn't much of a worry. He's a fantastic separator, but Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson isn't a great passer, and that's impacted Downs' fantasy scores heavily.

We like him far more than Dell and Johnston and would recommend you start Downs over either of the others. There's a lot more upside with him.
