Stuart Skinner Records Eighth Career Shutout
Edmonton Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner stopped 30 shots to post his eighth career shutout in Tuesday's 2-0 victory over the New York Rangers. In the process, Skinner collected his first victory of the season. He now has a 1-1-0 record and boasts a 1.44 goals-against average with a .942 save percentage. The 26-year-old struggled in last week's season opener against the Calgary Flames, but Skinner's numbers suddenly look a lot better. However, it's worth noting that he recorded a shutout against a team that has scored in only two of five games this season.Calvin Pickard had a winning start to the season against the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday, making Edmonton's goalie situation intriguing early in the year.
