Rhamondre Stevenson, Alvin Kamara, Kareem Hunt: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 6

Kareem Hunt - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

Should I start Rhamondre Stevenson, Alvin Kamara, or Kareem Hunt for Week 6? Fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks and recommendations for the 2025 NFL season.

As the 2025 NFL season approaches the midway point, teams continue to pile up victories that boost their playoff hopes. With another slate of games just around the corner, the New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, and Kansas City Chiefs find themselves on different paths.

The Patriots have looked decent through five games, especially after defeating the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium. Meanwhile, the Saints lost their first four games before earning a victory against the New York Giants. Finally, the Chiefs have an uncharacteristic losing record through five games.

As the Patriots, Saints, and Chiefs gear up for Week 6, they will need steady production from their featured backs to succeed. But from a fantasy football perspective, how should team owners deal with Rhamondre Stevenson, Alvin Kamara, and Kareem Hunt?

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Should I Start Rhamondre Stevenson for Fantasy Football?

Stevenson’s performances are on a downward trend. From his 142 all-purpose yards in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins, he finished with 56, 41, and 27 total yards in the next three games. Conversely, the Patriots have won three of their last four games despite Stevenson’s limited production.

Rhamondre Stevenson and the Patriots will visit the New Orleans Saints in Week 6. Through five weeks, the Saints have surrendered 122.2 yards per game, ranked 20th in the league. Likewise, the injuries of defensive tackle John Ridgeway (shoulder) and Chase Young (calf) could water down New Orleans’ run defense.

While Stevenson is a dual-threat running back, the Saints’ solid pass defense could limit his receiving yards. However, he could rack up yards and points from the ground, given the question marks on their run defense. Therefore, start Stevenson at the RB2 or flex positions to benefit from his output.

Should I Start Alvin Kamara for Fantasy Football?

New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (ankle) is currently listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's Week 6 matchup against the New England Patriots. Despite that, Kamara is expected to suit up for Sunday's contest.

Ironically, the Saints earned their first victory this season while Kamara had his lowest yard total. Still, like in his previous seasons, he remains a potent option in both the pass and run game.

Kamara will be facing a Patriots defense that has been terrible in stopping the pass. In five games, New England has given up 242.2 yards per game, ranked 26th in the NFL. On the flip side, the Patriots have a solid run defense, allowing only 85.6 yards per contest. This facet of their defense is a big part of their limiting opponents to only 20.2 points per game, putting them in the top 10.

Playing at home should give his performance a boost. Hence, start him with confidence as an RB2 in Week 6.

Should I Start Kareem Hunt for Fantasy Football?

Hunt is coming off a season-high 49-yard performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Next on the Kansas City Chiefs’ schedule is a home game versus the Detroit Lions. The NFC North leaders have stopped their opponents in both defensive aspects.

As of Week 5, the Lions ranked 12th in passing yards allowed at 206.6 per game. Detroit is even better on run defense, ranking seventh after giving up only 92.2 yards per contest. These numbers should paint the narrative that the Lions can neutralize the Chiefs offense.

However, the Chiefs are playing at home, and they are coming off a home victory against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4. Losing to the Jaguars on the road in Week 5 should motivate the Chiefs to play better. Likewise, with Alim McNeill and Zach Cunningham out due to injuries, Detroit’s run defense might have some holes.

Therefore, you can take a flyer on Kareem Hunt as a fantasy football starter. It’s best to place him at the RB2 or at the flex positions, giving way to a high-volume player at RB1.
