Jacob Markstrom Out for "Couple of Weeks"
New Jersey Devils goaltender Jacob Markstrom (lower body) is expected to miss "a couple of weeks," according to head coach Sheldon Keefe. The Swedish netminder sustained a lower-body injury during a relief appearance on Monday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Despite struggling early in the season with a 3.89 goals-against average and an .845 save percentage, Markstrom holds a winning record of 2-1-0. Jake Allen, who was replaced by Markstrom on Monday after experiencing cramping, will see an increased workload in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, Nico Daws has been called up from the minors to provide backup for Allen.
