Who Should I Start For Fantasy Football Week 15? Sam LaPorta, Zach Ertz, Brenton Strange

Sam LaPorta - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Who should I start for Week 15? Fantasy football outlooks for Sam LaPorta, Zach Ertz, Brenton Strange. Our expert fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks.

The 2024 fantasy football season has been frustrating for anyone who doesn’t have George Kittle, Brock Bowers, or Trey McBride as their starting tight end.

Many tight ends have been inconsistent throughout the year. And Sam LaPorta, Zach Ertz, and Brenton Strange have been three of those inconsistent tight ends this season.

So, which of these frustrating tight ends should fantasy players start in Week 15, if any? Let's take a look at our start/sit recommendations for Week 15 and fantasy football lineups. Good luck, RotoBallers!

Should I Start Sam LaPorta For Fantasy Football?

LaPorta was drafted as the TE1 in many fantasy football leagues this year after an impressive rookie season. However, he is only the TE13 for the year, averaging 7.7 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. The second-year pro has five receiving touchdowns after totaling 10 as a rookie.

The former Iowa star has two receiving touchdowns and 22 fantasy points over the past two weeks. Unfortunately, LaPorta is a risky low-end TE1 against the Buffalo Bills. They have held tight ends to only 7.8 fantasy points per game, the fifth-fewest in the NFL. The Bills have surrendered only two receptions for 18 receiving yards to tight ends over the past two weeks.

Should I Start Zach Ertz For Fantasy Football?

Ertz has been a reliable target for Jayden Daniels this season. The veteran is the TE10 for the year, averaging eight half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Furthermore, he has been outstanding lately, averaging five receptions on seven targets for 40 receiving yards and 13.2 fantasy points per game in his past three contests.

More importantly, Ertz scored a touchdown in three consecutive games before the Washington Commanders’ Week 14 bye. Meanwhile, he faces the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. They have held tight ends to only one receiving touchdown this season, making Ertz a low-end TE1 with limited upside.

Should I Start Brenton Strange For Fantasy Football?

Strange will be the Jacksonville Jaguars new starting tight end with Evan Engram out for the year with a shoulder injury. The young tight end is the TE36 for the season, averaging 3.8 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. However, he has played well with Engram out of the lineup, totaling 65 receiving yards or a touchdown in three of four contests.

However, fantasy players should only start Strange as a desperation option in deeper leagues. The Jaguars face the New York Jets. They have held tight ends to eight fantasy points per game, the seventh-fewest in the NFL. Fantasy players can likely find a better streaming option on their waiver wire than Strange.
