Fantasy Football Drop Candidates
Read about fantasy football players to consider dropping for Week 4:
Quentin Johnston, Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston had another quiet afternoon in Sunday's 24-16 loss to the Buffalo Bills, catching three of six targets for 40 yards. He did have a season-high 21-yard reception, but the bigger moment came late in the fourth quarter when he dropped a third-down pass with Los Angeles still trying to stay in the game. Johnston was not short on playing time, either.
He played 60 of the Chargers' 69 offensive snaps and ran a route on 37 of Justin Herbert's 43 dropbacks. Tre' Harris was more productive on fewer snaps, catching six of seven targets for 76 yards. Johnston now has six catches for 64 yards on 17 targets through three games and has yet to score. The role is still there, but the production has not followed, and Harris' strong showing gives the Chargers another receiver who can push for more work.
Given his recent skid, managers in shallower formats can cut ties with Johnston in favor of upside options on the waiver wire. Those in deeper formats should view Johnston as a must-sit in Week 4.
Rico Dowdle, Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rico Dowdle (toe) has been ruled out for Thursday night's game against Cleveland, according to Brooke Pryor of ESPN. Dowdle didn't practice at all on the short week and will now miss a second straight game.
He has 15 carries for 37 yards and four catches for 28 yards through two appearances this season. Jaylen Warren took over the backfield without Dowdle against Cincinnati and turned in a huge game, rushing for 127 yards while finishing with 176 yards from scrimmage. Warren should again handle most of Pittsburgh's backfield work Thursday night.
Managers in shallower leagues can consider cutting ties for running backs with more short-term upside like Ollie Gordon II and Braelon Allen, but those in 12+ team leagues should continue to stash him through this injury.
Mike Washington Jr., Las Vegas Raiders
Las Vegas Raiders running back Mike Washington Jr. belongs in the high-upside handcuff tier heading into Week 4. Washington only carried five times in Sunday's 35-27 win over New Orleans, but he turned those chances into 54 yards and his first NFL touchdown, including a 36-yard scoring run in the third quarter. He now has 15 carries for 102 yards through three games, but Ashton Jeanty remains the clear lead back and has handled 76 touches while playing nearly 79% of the offensive snaps. That leaves Washington with very little standalone value for now.
The appeal is what could happen if Jeanty misses time. Washington sits directly behind him on the depth chart and has already shown enough explosiveness to make that potential workload interesting.
He is not a priority add for managers chasing immediate production, but he is one of the better running back stashes available in leagues with room for a handcuff. Those in shallower formats should part ways in favor of a running back with a clearer path to more snaps.
Tank Bigsby, Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia Eagles running back Tank Bigsby had a rough game in his team's Week 3 loss to the Chicago Bears, as he lost a fumble on his lone touch of the night. Bigsby has had some issues with ball security in his career, which could lead to a diminished role with the Eagles going forward. However, assuming Bigsby can avoid fumbles from here on out, he profiles as the primary backup running back in Philadelphia behind Saquon Barkley.
As long as Barkley remains healthy, Bigsby's path to fantasy production is limited. Still, Bigsby profiles as a high-end handcuff option for fantasy managers who could emerge as a must-start running back if Barkley were to miss any time with an injury. In leagues with 12 or more teams, fantasy managers should consider targeting Bigsby on the waiver wire.
Like Washington, given Bigsby's limited standalone role, he is not a priority stash in shallower leagues.
Emanuel Wilson, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks running back Emanuel Wilson had a rough game in his team's Week 3 loss to the Washington Commanders, rushing for 14 yards on nine carries. However, Wilson's role in the crowded Seahawks backfield remains encouraging. Wilson led Seattle in backfield touches for the second straight week, and Seahawks rookie running back Jadarian Price coughed up a costly fumble that could lead to him falling down the depth chart.
Wilson has only recorded one target across three games so far in 2026, so fantasy managers in PPR-scoring formats should expect limited upside from him as a receiver. Seattle could also get running back Zach Charbonnet (knee) back from Injured Reserve in the next couple of weeks, which would almost certainly impact Wilson's outlook.
Still, Wilson looks like his team's preferred early-down and goal-line rusher for now. He is a worthy stash in deeper leagues, but his committee role makes him a viable drop in standard formats.
Rashod Bateman, Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman remains a deeper-league waiver option after Zay Flowers returned to the lineup in Week 3. Bateman caught seven of nine targets for 88 yards and a touchdown with Flowers out against New Orleans, then dropped to two catches for 37 yards in Sunday's win over Dallas. Flowers came back and immediately led Baltimore with five receptions for 84 yards, while Lamar Jackson attempted only 20 passes.
Bateman still made one of the Ravens' bigger plays with a 31-yard catch, but his weekly target volume is harder to trust when Flowers is healthy. He has nine receptions for 125 yards and one touchdown through three games.
Bateman sits 42nd overall on RotoBaller's current Week 4 waiver board, where the recommendation is for 14-team leagues. He is worth holding or adding in deeper formats, but he is more of a bench receiver than a priority claim in standard leagues. With Flowers back in action, his upside is far more limited.
