Who Should I Draft for Fantasy Football? Christian Kirk, Brandon Aiyuk, Marvin Mims Jr. Outlooks

Late-Round Fantasy Football Best Ball Draft Sleepers (2025)

Who should I draft for fantasy football in 2025? Fantasy football outlooks for Christian Kirk, Brandon Aiyuk, and Marvin Mims Jr. and our expert draft advice.

Christian Kirk, Brandon Aiyuk, and Marvin Mims Jr. are three receivers in very different situations. However, what they have in common is this: For one reason or another, their fantasy football values have slipped to the very end of the draft, to the point where it wouldn't be unreasonable for any of them to go undrafted.

Kirk missed over half of the season in 2024 and now joins a crowded receiver room in Houston. Aiyuk also plays in an offense filled with weapons and is coming off a serious injury. Mims now has to deal with new players taking away targets.

All three of these receivers provide an interesting late-round gamble. So, which one should you bet on in your fantasy football drafts this year?

Christian Kirk Fantasy Football Outlook

  • Underdog ADP: 118.5 (WR56)

Kirk began the year as an entrenched starter in the Jaguars offense and ended it as an afterthought. Kirk played in just eight games due to a season-ending broken collarbone and watched first-round rookie Brian Thomas Jr. take his spot as the team's No. 1 receiver.

However, even before that, Kirk's role in the offense was declining. He caught just 27 passes in those eight games, a little more than three per game.

Now a member of the Houston Texans, Kirk is currently listed as a starter but could see his spot taken by a rookie for the second straight year. Second-round rookie Jayden Higgins and third-round rookie Jaylin Noel are both talented enough to push for snaps right away.

The good news is that Higgins is an outside receiver, so he won't threaten Kirk's role in the slot. As long as he beats out Noel, Kirk will see plenty of snaps in three-receiver sets. But even so, he lacks the upside you'd want in a late-round wide receiver. Don't bother drafting him.

Brandon Aiyuk Fantasy Football Outlook

  • Underdog ADP: 118.9 (WR57)

After two consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, it appeared that Aiyuk had become the No. 1 target in the San Francisco passing game. However, a slow start to the 2024 season followed by a torn ACL in Week 7 completely changed the trajectory of the receiver's career.

A technical route runner with great athleticism before the injury, it's fair to worry that Aiyuk won't retain those abilities to the fullest.

Aiyuk's recovery is not yet complete, and he's expected to miss the first six weeks of the 2025 season. But even if he comes back looking strong, he'll have a significant amount of competition for targets. TE George Kittle, WR Ricky Pearsall, and RB Christian McCaffrey will all be heavily involved, and the same could be said for Jauan Jennings if his contract situation ever gets figured out.

Aiyuk's ADP indicates that he's being drafted in Round 10, but he's been going as late as Round 14 in fantasy drafts. At that price, Aiyuk is a definite buy, as he has the potential to return to form, making him a high-upside player you should be looking for with a late-round pick.

Marvin Mims Jr. Fantasy Football Outlook

  • Underdog ADP: 122.6 (WR58)

Mims enjoyed a solid year in 2024 as the Broncos' primary big-play threat in the passing game. One of the league's best return men, the young speedster got more involved in the offense in his second season. Mims caught 39 passes for 503 yards and six touchdowns, showing off his ability to go deep and make highlight-reel catches.

However, don't expect his role to grow much more than that -- the signing of TE Evan Engram indicates that Mims won't be the team's No. 2 target in 2025.

Besides Engram, veteran wideout Courtland Sutton is also ahead of Mims in the pecking order. When you add in the presence of young talents Troy Franklin and Pat Bryant, you can understand why Mims' ceiling is limited.

Mims is going in Round 11 of fantasy drafts, and you can find receivers with more talent in less crowded offenses at that range.

Who Should I Draft?

Managers who want a safe pick who is likely to produce some reliable fantasy stats this season should target Kirk. However, his upside is capped as a slot receiver and a clear second option in his offense.

If you want to swing for the fences with a boom/bust pick that could be a major value, then consider Mims or Aiyuk in the late rounds. Mims will be up and down from week to week, and Aiyuk will have to sit on your bench for at least a month, but both have the potential to pop off for big games with their ability to get open down the field.
