When will Tyrone Tracy Jr. return and play? Will Tyrone Tracy Jr. be back again this season? Read the latest Tyrone Tracy Jr. injury updates and return date for Week 4 (2025).
In 2024, Tyrone Tracy Jr. had a very strong rookie season with the Giants, racking up 839 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. He ranked 37th out of 57 qualifying RBs in yards after contact per rush and entered this season as the clear lead back in the Giants' backfield over veteran Devin Singletary and rookie Cam Skattebo.
Tracy was losing a little playing time to Skattebo, but he was still very effective and the starting running back. That came to a screeching halt, though, on Sunday Night Football against the Chiefs. Towards the end of the first quarter, Tracy lowered his shoulder while looking for the edge and was forced to leave the game with a shoulder injury. He was questionable to return but was later downgraded to out, leaving Skattebo to take on most of the work against the Chiefs.
So what's Tracy's status for Week 4, and will he play? Read the latest Tyrone Tracy Jr. injury news and fantasy outlook below.

Tyrone Tracy Jr. Fantasy Football Injury Update
Tracy got off to a slow start to the season this year, totaling 39 rushing yards on 15 carries in the first two games, but he did draw 10 targets and haul in six catches for 47 receiving yards. He already had a season-high 29 rushing yards in Week 3 before leaving with his injury.
He caught a swing pass out of the backfield close to the end of the first quarter and ran towards the Chiefs' sideline. He lowered his shoulder as he went to the sideline, trying to get a few more yards, and ran squarely into linebacker Nick Bolton.
Tracy went to the ground on the Chiefs' sideline and immediately pointed at his shoulder area. The Chiefs' training staff immediately attended to him, while the Giants' training staff made their way across the field. He was helped off the field with a trainer supporting the weight of his arm.

Tracy was diagnosed with a dislocated shoulder and is expected to miss between two and four weeks.
Is Tyrone Tracy Jr. Playing in Week 4?
Based on the report that he'll be sidelined for a few weeks, he obviously will not suit up in Week 4, leaving Skattebo to handle workhorse duties.
Giants RB Tyrone Tracy dislocated his shoulder in the first half of Sunday night's loss to the Chiefs and is expected to miss some time, per sources. He had seven carries for 29 yards prior to injury.
Rookie Cam Skattebo will likely step into a bigger role with Tracy sidelined.
— Jordan Raanan (@JordanRaanan) September 22, 2025
Skattebo stepped up with 10 carries for 60 yards and a touchdown and also took over as the third-down back, adding six catches on eight targets for 61 more yards and a total of 24.1 PPR and DraftKings points. According to Raanan and multiple other reports, Skattebo is set to take over as the full-time back for as long as Tracy is out.
Tyrone Tracy Jr. Fantasy Football Outlook for Week 4
Tracy could be placed on injured reserve, which would mean he would miss at least four weeks. He's hard to hold onto in standard leagues since Skattebo has looked so effective and could step up as the every-down back while he is out.
If you're in a deeper league, though, Tracy will be worth holding onto since he should have a role when he returns, and at this point, he has not been ruled out for the season. Skattebo will be the hot name everyone will be racing to add from waivers or get via trade, but it's not clear if he'll be able to handle the load long-term.
Tracy could mix in at least as a third-down back once he recovers, but that will likely be at least a few weeks away.
