Time to Drop TreVeyon Henderson? Fantasy Football Week 6 Waiver Wire Outlook (2025)

TreVeyon Henderson - Fantasy Football Rookie Rankings, RB Draft Sleepers

Should I drop TreVeyon Henderson for fantasy football Week 6? Is TreVeyon Henderson a safe player to cut? Read the fantasy football waivers outlook.

Explosive preseason touches sent TreVeyon Henderson's fantasy football stock sky high. Through five weeks, there's been no trace of the rookie's game-breaking ability.

Henderson has, at times, been third in the Patriots' running back pecking order, behind Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson. That's not worth his fourth-round fantasy football cost, let alone a ninth-round selection.

However, there's still some room for optimism through Henderson's disastrous first month in the NFL. Before you make any rash roster decisions, let's break down whether the rookie is still worth a spot on your bench.

Should I Drop TreVeyon Henderson in Fantasy Football?

An entire first quarter came and went without a touch for TreVeyon Henderson on Sunday night. The sound you heard was fantasy managers across the globe sighing and contemplating dropping the young running back.

An injury to Antonio Gibson early in the second quarter is giving renewed hope to those managers.

The division of labor will continue to be frustrating, at best, for Henderson managers. Rhamondre Stevenson, despite his fumbling issues, will continue to be the lead running back in New England.

However, reducing the three-person backfield to two will only benefit both Stevenson and Henderson. The latter just saw his highest snap share of his young career.

There's still patience to be practiced. Head coach Mike Vrabel is in press conferences talking about using Henderson more on kick returns, and the second-round pick is noticeably struggling with blocking and pass protection. He still needs to earn his playing time, despite gaining positive yards on 97% of his attempts. For now, Henderson is a stash with the hope of a second-half breakout.

Who Should I Pick Up for Fantasy Football?

While fantasy managers shouldn't drop Henderson, it's tough to start him right now. So, who can you find on the waiver wire to plug into a flex spot?

The obvious, but higher-rostered players are Rico Dowdle and Michael Carter. The former has a series of smash matchups as long as Chuba Hubbard (calf) remains out of the lineup. Carter is seemingly locked into the starting spot in Arizona until Trey Benson (knee) returns in, at best, three weeks.

One of Kimani Vidal or Hassan Haskins will handle the majority of the touches in the Los Angeles backfield, at least for now, with Omarion Hampton (ankle) landing on injured reserve. It wouldn't surprise anyone to see the team add a veteran free agent to the rotation. Until that information crosses our news feed, Vidal may be the better of the two to acquire.

There's one more name who is trending up, without an injury in front of him. New Orleans' Kendre Miller out-carried starter Alvin Kamara against the New York Giants on Sunday. He has double-digit attempts in back-to-back games, good for 106 rushing yards.
