ANALYSIS: The Washington Nationals promoted outfield prospect Robert Hassell III prior to their contest against the Atlanta Braves on May 21. Hassell is currently considered the No. 11-ranked prospect in their system on MLB.com.
Earlier this season, the outfielder received his second look at Triple-A and was able to hold his own. Across 43 games, Hassell posted an impressive .288/.337/.405 slash line with seven doubles, four home runs, and nine stolen bases. During his first look at Triple-A during the 2024 campaign, the 23-year-old posted a modest .125/.188/.156 line.
Since making his MLB debut on May 22, Hassell has been deployed as the starting center fielder in D.C. In his debut on May 22, Hassell wasted little time to make an impact as he went 2-for-5 at the plate with a stolen base. However, over his last four games, he has gone hitless with four strikeouts and no walks.

With both Jacob Young (shoulder) and Dylan Crews (oblique) on the injured list, fantasy managers should expect Hassell to continue to have the starting job in center field. As a result, given his ability to steal bases and hit for solid power, he is worth adding in all 12+ team, five-outfielder formats.
