Sacramento Kings forward/center Dylan Cardwell (calf) will miss at least two weeks with a left calf strain, ESPN's Anthony Slater reports. The second-year big man developed soreness after the Oct. 8 preseason game against the Lakers, and imaging confirmed the injury. With Maxime Raynaud (knee) also sidelined, Sacramento will be short on center depth for its Oct. 21 opener against the Clippers. Cardwell averaged 5.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in 20.6 minutes across 44 games as a rookie. Domantas Sabonis should soak up most of the center minutes early, while Precious Achiuwa figures to see more time up front and could help on the boards in the short term.

The No. 6 overall pick practiced fully over the weekend and went through 5-on-5 work before sitting out Monday's win over Washington. Brown averaged 15.0 points, 4.0 assists, and 2.2 threes across four Summer League appearances before rolling his left ankle ahead of training camp. Yuki Kawamura Waived by Clippers
The Los Angeles Clippers have waived guard Yuki Kawamura, ending his training camp bid for a roster spot. The 25-year-old signed an Exhibit 10 deal in August after averaging 8.2 points and 4.8 assists across five Summer League games with Indiana. Kawamura appeared in 18 games for Chicago last season, posting 3.4 points, 2.6 assists, and 1.8 rebounds in 11.6 minutes while shooting 32.7 percent from the field. His departure does little to change a Clippers backcourt led by Darius Garland and Kris Dunn, with rookie Keaton Wagler also competing for minutes. Ben Simmons Expected to Begin 2026-27 Season as Starter
Sacramento Kings point guard Ben Simmons is expected to start for the team in 2026-27, according to ESPN's Marc Spears. Simmons started Saturday's preseason game against the Golden State Warriors, playing eight minutes and scoring seven points. Kawhi Leonard Available to Play on Tuesday
Toronto Raptors small forward Kawhi Leonard (rest) fully practiced on Monday and is expected to play in Tuesday's preseason game against the New York Knicks. Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic said, "Yes, he went through practice today. He's feeling great. So yes, he's gonna be available for the game tomorrow."
