Tommy Pham Activated From DL
6 years agoThe Tampa Bay Rays activated outfielder Tommy Pham (foot) from the disabled list on Wednesday and optioned pitcher Jake Faria to Triple-A Durham in a corresponding move. Pham had played in only two games for the Rays before being injured after being acquired at the trade deadline. He's been somewhat of a disappointment with his .244/.332/.393 line, 14 homers, 41 RBI and 10 steals in 2018, but he's still useful in the majority of leagues and will play every day. His return should bump Carlos Gomez back to a bench role. Faria allowed three hits and one earned run in 3 1/3 innings in a start against the Yankees on Wednesday. He's likely being sent down to be stretched out in the minors. He'll almost assuredly be back up in September and could see more starts down the stretch.
