Texans Non-Committal On Two-QB System For Week 15
2 years agoThe Houston Texans effectively used a two-quarterback system with Davis Mills and Jeff Driskel on Sunday and almost pulled off the biggest upset of the year in Week 14 against the Dallas Cowboys. It was the first time the Texans played two QBs 30-plus snaps since they used Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallet in tandem in 2015. If Houston is going to continue this setup going forward, they'll have to sign Driskel to the active roster. But head coach Lovie Smith was non-committal about the two-QB system heading into Week 15 against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Texans offense entered last Sunday averaging just 15 points per game, but they were able to score 23 points and almost pull off a major upset without their two leading receivers in Brandin Cooks (calf) and Nico Collins (foot). It remains to be seen if Driskel will see any more playing time, but the best bet is that Mills will continue as the primary QB.
